Lily has been a bit off for last couple of days, she seems quite clingy and a bit under the weather. Today she was fine and then all of a sudden she looked really tired and was hot with red cheeks. Have given calpol and she seemed a bit more like her usual self. She has gone to bed and straight to sleep but her hair is wet from sweating (her room is not hot). Any thoughts or suggestions? Could it be teeth related (she has all her teeth except very big ones at back i think)? I am not a worrier normally but am a bit concerned about her sweating etc x

Hi Kate, poor Lily hope she is ok soon.

Bethany has been a little bit like this in the last few days but without the sweating. I took Bethany to the walk in centre and after a thorough examination I was told it was an upper respiratory infection (viral infection), Bethany had also had a bit of a temperature but that seems to have gone now. I think Bethany's has been a combination of a cold and teething as well as her bottom gums are very bumpy on one side.

I'm guessing Lily's is combination of some sort of virus and perhaps teeth. I would maybe take her to the Docs tomorrow to get her checked and give you a piece of mind.

Do you have a thermometer to get an accurate temp? Id say teeth shudnt cause her to sweat like that. Keep on with calpol and give brufen too as it also has temperature lowering properties and if she does have teeth pain it will reduce the swelling and id get the doc to see her in the morning. Sounds virusy which if it is just calpol and fluids but prob worth getting her ears and throat and chest checked

Thanks both, have tried to take temp but she is not having it at all! Am going to try again while she is asleep.

She has had lots of drinks today so maybe it is a virus etc. I will phone docs in morning but usually cant get an appt for about 4 days!

Hi Lesley, thanks for asking! She had a good nioghts sleep and seemed fine this morning so she has gone to nursery. We have told them she was a bit off and they are really good and will let us know if she is not well. Fingers crossed it was just an off day!! x
