I tend to do about one load a day, if I've missed a day or two I play catch up and put a load on over night so it's ready for the morning.

Our washer is on once most days, so will probably be more when Lissie Bou gets here...but thats mainly because I work in a nursery so my clothes are constantly covered in snot, sick etc and hubby is in the forces so he has to have clean uniform every day too. xx

On average I do a load a day, maybe more in summer. I wash everything for the sake of it then because I can hang it all out in the sun and I LOVE hanging washing out Laughing

4-5 Izzy (we wash nappies too)
1-2 towels

I'm very lazy when it comes to washing. Our washer and drier are outside in the utility room at the side of the house so it's difficult for me to be out there with the kids and I don't like leaving them unattended in the house even for a minute while I nip out so I tend to chuck all out dirty washing out there all week and then on a weekend when OH is around goout and do a mass wash. So washer is generally on once during the week for bits and bobs then 5-6 times on the weekend for everything.

plus the kids have clean jammies/clothes everyday so i might do 2 in the week and about 5 on a weekend, this weekend i have stripped the beds, and Alice has barfed over my sofa/her bed, so today i have done 4 loads and there are still 4 waithing to go in Shocked

goodness knows how i am gonna get it all dry, i started this morning cos at 7.30 it was sunny and it has pissed it down for the rest of the day Rolling Eyes

usually one load during the week then 2-3 at the weekend depending on how many beds I change.

Did 5 this weekend though because I had a blitz on all the dogs' bedding and that was 3 loads.

Do you know what I often wonder when im doing the washing.... how the fricking heck did our great grandmothers cope without a washing machine??? When I was a child an old neighbour had a 'mangle' in their yard that we used to go and look at in awe (sad children I know lol).

How, just how did they find the time to hand wash everything and drain it through a mangle before hanging up. Plus they didnt have tumblers or radiators... it would have all had to be hung in front of fire.

Im so thankfully to have been born in 1984 and not 1884. Id have been dead by now!

I don't think they had as many clothes as we do and were a bit minging in those days, wore clothes for days on end lol. Plus lifestyles were different, pace of life slower and womens work was the home and that pretty much all they did xx
