Tylers been going to nursery for about 8 months and almost every time I take him he cries when I go... now I understand this could be normal however his usual teacher has been away since Wednesday and they have a new lady in covering her. Tyler hasn't cried once when I leave him.

The only thing that's different is that the old lady takes Tyler off me which makes him cry, this new lady doesn't and I just put Tyler down and off he goes.

I'm going to test my theory when she is back and try and put Tyler down myself and see if he is ok with that when she is there but what do I do if it IS her?

If it is her i think you'll need to talk to the nursery manager. Maybe they can switch teachers or investigate to find out why he doesn't like her.

she is the manager/owner and there's only 1 other girl there. (they only have about 15 kids at any one time)

it might be because she is taking him off you, i'd just put him on the floor and always say the same phrase before you go, i still do this with rich at 11 and he used to say it back now he too cool, although i did get love you this morning.

but if its her, then i'd have a word with manager too

then i'd see how it goes, but he could only be crying for the couple of minutes he is taken from you. to be honest i'd say that was bad practice and try just letting him go in himself, he seems ok this week to do it with a stranger, so its not the nursery it could be just the thought of being taken

I have put him down in the past and he's turned around and tried to climb back up me clinging on to me... at the time I put it down to him not being used to nursery etc but now this week I put him down and off he toddles to the other kids and waves goodbye to me!

I really hope its just coincidence :/

I would test your theory hun. It sounds like he doesnt like being taken off you. xx
