Raspberry leaf tea?! Thats the stuff you're supposed to drink in weeks up till labour isn't it, it is worth it or just another of those myths, I don't want to waste my money. Also can I take now (35wks) or is it from 37wks?

I was told from 35 weeks. I had really strong contractions. They were hitting the top of their graph thing every time but no idea if it was that or just what would have happened. Didn't really help because I still didn't dilate. The mw recommended it though so I guess there might be something in it. i found the tea disgusting and had the tablets instead

I tried it with Tyler, not very much though although in the last week before he was born I think I tried to have 1 cup a day... my labour wasn't painful until the last 90 mins and I guess was quick ( 8 hours from absolute start to finish) but i was induced and on the drip so not sure if that's why...

I had the capsules and my contractions were very strong as soon as they started but Stephen still had to be forcibly evicted! I started taking them at 34 weeks and built up how many I was having each week xx

I took it with Oliver from 34weeks and increased as recommended. I actually quite liked it Oliver was born 2 days early, very text book labour and birth - 6hrs from 1st contraction to giving birth. I don't think I will take it with the next as Olivers birth was so quick anyway, the likely hood will be that the next will be slightly quicker. They do advise you not to take with the 2nd if you had a quick labour with your 1st

My labour was 23hrs so might be worth taking them. I'll buy some at the tea and capsules at the weekend and see which I prefer.

I found it quite nice with a couple of sugars in. Was only a couple of quid for the tea bags and they lasted the 6weeks too

I was actually warned off it by my MW when I was pg with Thomas she told me all it does is intensify your contractions but that's not a great thing because you need to speed up the dilation bit not the contractions, she said theres no point in having mega intense contractions if bubs can't get out because all it does is make it hurt more Did anybody else get warned off it? or was my MW just trying to make my life a misery? xx

Its a hard one Debs, cos every woman is different and the pain levels etc.. so how can they say that one womans contractions were more intense/painful from the next womans My contractions were very intense and from my 1st contraction at 10am by 1.30pm I was being rushed straight to delivery so it did happen very quick. I'm not saying it was anything to do with the tea as I was mobile completely right through labour contractions so that could have helped too. As with the tea, some say they swear by it, others say its personal choice..everyones different - I say try it (if your last labour was 23hrs long lol) you've nothing to loose! My MW didn't really have any views on it tbh.
