I have created a slim line version of banda for mobile users - its real banda with all the same security etc but with some bits removed


On your mobile go to banda.mobify.me (do not use www.)


I've included what I think are the essential elements of banda - the main menu page has recent topics at the top, just under that is your inbox, and then you should see the main menu as usual, right at the bottom is the search feature.


I've tested this on my android and it works nicely, some of the icons may need to be made smaller, but that is something that will need to be worked on.
The only thing I am aware of needing fixing is logging in and out, to log in now click the 'log in to check your messages' OR it will ask you to log in regardless if you try to post or go in the private lounge! and currently missing is a log out button - but hey no one said you could leave (I will look into this tomorrow of course!)




It works best with your phone sideways if you have the ability to change it by turning the phone


Can you let me know how you get on with this? It can be set that the normal web address automatically goes to the mobified version - but I won't do that until we are happy it works well and has what we need on there.

I just tried it on the iPhone and the only problem I have is that I can't zoom out so each post you have to scroll across to be able to read. Looks good tho!

Hmm, i've noticed something.. when i go into the toddler section for example, i only allows me to se the potty training sub menu..same with baby babble, i can only see the post partum sub menu
I an enter these sub menu's but can't see the rest of the toddler/baby section.

On it like a car bonnet! Only problem for me in no zooming out but looks very good. x

I commented already but it disappeared, how odd.

Anyhoo, no probs for me with the zooming as it all wraps round fine.

Could do with a better way of logging on than going to message box and then there was no navigation out of there back to the forum, so I had to type the address back in.

However it took aaaaaaaaaaaaaaages to load up after I wrote my message, and that's with my wireless at home. When at work on the mobile network, I think that would put me off and I'd just struggle along with the usual site instead.

So in summary, excellent start, few improvements, maybe the loading speed was just a glitch will try again later, well done you clever person I'm so impressed! xxx

The navigation is the same as here in that you see Babies & All :: General Chat :: The Lounge



So click Babies & All - that takes you back to the main menu

Can't comment on speed as mine was exactly the same as the normal site and other pages, but nothing can do about that anyway as it replies on the speed that mobify translates the pages

Yeh I need to look at the log in bit - but if you press reply it asks you to log in anyway so shouldn't be an issue for now

Minds linked to my wifi at home and the speed is actually quicker for me than it has been (lately) on the laptop, have had no problems. I have opera mini on my mobile though, maybe if it was through the actual mobile web it'd probably be slower.

Is there a way to log out yet? not that I'm overly fussed, i just don't want people thinking i have no life

Speed seems to be ok now 'maybe my wireless was having a wobbler. Seems you have to go back to first page of thread to comment tho?

Sorry to be a pest but when I go in certain sections its only showing the sub-menu's again ie: its showing the potty training section twice in toddlers

It's the only way to fix it - so you have to let me know when they don't work!!!

I've added one for that - hopefully will work...the way mobify works is it looks at a template I create, for example I've created one called the lounge, and when it sees another page like that it applies the template - but there must be some differences it sees that aren't obvious to me, because I expected it to use the lounge template for all forums that had sub headers at the top...but it isn't!

We will get there!

Lisa for some strange reason I've been logged out of the Mobify site (which has never happened before) but it won't let me log back in
I put in my password and it just refreshes and asks for it again. I know it's the right passwords cos I've just used it to log onto the full site with it.
