Hi all I'm desperately trying to pay for a couple of things via paypal, but it's in maiden name and I've now finally changed bank details to married name,

Paypal want me to fax copies of marriage cert and passport, hassle


I was thinking I would just close it and open new account, but do you need I'd now, it's been years sine u opened this one, I can't remember

so is the bank account linked already and you just want to change names on paypal?

You can only start a new account and link it if its not already linked, so if thats the case yeh just start nee user account with correct name and add bank account

Weirdly enough I did exactly the smae thing yesterday because my card had expired on there. Wouldnt let me change my name though. SO I opened a new one with our joint account card. You cant use the same card twice though so as long as you havent already used it it will be fine to open a new one x

You may well be better changing the name on the first account then - as a new account wont be allowed that same card...so you will only be able to do bank funding (direct debits) and not everywhere takes that kind, some only take cards

Yeah that's what we thinking, I want to get sorted so I can pay you.
