I don't know if anyone remembers about me saying Hermione's head was a funny shape.

Anyway we have tried everything (I went to the GP when she 3/4 months) who said what I needed to do to help her head go back to its normal shape. Been again this morning as she is never on her head now apart from sleeping and she rolls all over the place so is never laying on one spot on her head.

And It's getting worse. Her left eye is lower then her right and always looks like she has a squint. Her left ear sticks out and now her lower jaw is more to the right of her face.

But they won't do anything they say it will right it's self.

We've looked and looked on line for things we can do but it's what we have already been doing and its got worse not better. The Doctor said there is no funding to correct it and that it is deemed as cosmetic!!!!!!

We've been looking on line and I have found some clinics and have found a few in London (was hoping to find one in our county). What would you do? I can't leave it.

OH has noticed now too, my mum has and sister, SIL and dad have all mentioned about her head (well they ask about her eye first then noticed her head)

It's going to cost £2,000 to get treatment. I want to, OH does too would you?

Firstly, from the photos I have seen I can't see anything apart from an extremely pretty little girl with an ordinary shaped head.

But if was me and it was causing so much stress then I probably would, as long as there was no risk to her health from the treatment and that I could afford it

If i can ger her to stay still I'll post some photos.

What is the impact of having it done now or later on in life?

Also, dont forget that she will get hair, etc. so the only thing that is going to be obvious is her eye... how obvious is her eye if you imagine her with hair? iykwim?

Personally if its noticable then I would get it seen to asap. Aimee has a lazy eye and its really noticable and im glad that we took action and are getting it sorted out now rather than when she is older.

What is the procedure? I have heard of cases where its how the scalp has formed and sometimes children have to have that surgery to readjust it so its 'even' (if that makes sense), although im not sure what its actually called. If it is that, then I am positive its available on the NHS as my midwife was saying about it in our antenatal class when I was pregnant with Aimee.

From what i have read it's better to be done before they are 12 months as their head does the most growing between birth and 12 months and slows down after 12 months

we could only see it when we held her and looked in the mirror but can now see it when just looking at her. it could impact her sight and hearing but at the moment they are fine. ill get some pics up

I would speak to a different doctor as im sure (if its the same thing that I am thinking) that it is covered on the nhs.

Does that require one of this special helmets? My mums friends son had a little girl whose head wasn't right and they had to pay out. Hers was deemed cosmetic aswell. I'd seek a second opinion Hun and then see what comes of it. I'd be inclined to do it though if it could cause problems xxx

I know a little boy that wears a starband,.its made a huge difference to the shape of his head. It was paid privately though and cost about 1.5k. Also huntermac off ab dudnt her little boy have one? X

It was devonmum's little lad who had a star band helmet on AB she was a mod so she might still be around to pm?
