http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-11727774 Taking a woman to court for 'stealing' make-up.....she was in a well paid job, so why would she try to nick it, maybe it was an accident? But to take it through the courts?! ££££'s for a few quid of makeup?! WTF

I have to say that in many of my local stores - any shop - if an alarm goes off when people walk through that detective thingy, nobody gives a stuff! Not once have I seen security stop anybody when alarms go off!!! I have taken to keeping my receipt in my hand until I leave the store. Not that anybody would give 2 monkeys!!!

They have got to be taking the proverbial! I have done this a few times and always by accident! Especially when I have had the baby carrier in the trolley and something small has slipped underneath or I've thrown something in and it has landed in my bag etc. I do usually go back and confess and pay but recently I had already strapped the kids in the car before I realised and couldn't be bothered getting them both out again I once walked out of Asda with a pair of tweezers blatantly in my hand and literally just forgot I had them (had a lot on my mind at the time). Sounds in the article like she wasn't even given the opportunity to realise and return. Ok if they had watched her go to her car and realise her mistake and still not pay then I can see why they would follow it up but surely a slap on the wrists and maybe a fine or something in this situation would be more appropriate and less expensive than dragging it through courts. I have a feeling the poor woman is being made an example of and whilst I do not condone theft she could lose her career over this and all for the sake of a mascara? WTF? xx
