argh alfie is doing my head in with his food atm. i just cant seem to fill him up. on a morning he is ok as he has an 8oz bottle and then a weetabix with half a banana. he will have a morning snack of a few rice cakes then at dinner time and tea time he has equivalent of a full 7month jar of food plus one or two yogs. then he still cries for more so i will give him banana or cucumber sticks and then he still cries for more! he also cries/moans all the way through each meal. as soon as the spoon has left his mouth hes wanting more and more faster and faster!!

surely meal time should be a happy time? he just ends every meal crying usually!!

help?

x

he gets 2 8oz bottles of milk a day plus a good 3oz with his weetabix/porridge. he drinks water alot but doesnt drink much at a time. he never really has a good drink of anything except milk. he tends to have constant little sips. now hes using a straw its much better and hes drinking more but still constantly seems hungry!!

i dont know whether hes just being greedy as its not affecting his sleeping x

My friends little girl is the same age and is exactly the same, She seems to be able to sense food from a mile off and eats more than me and Oliver put together lol

It could be a stimulation thing, he may have teeth coming through and the food/eating his distracting in some way. Am not sure really just a shot in the dark. You could maybe offer a bit of milk after each meal. Or maybe after each meal occupy him in some other way to signify the 'end' of that meal..maybe go for a walk or move to another room.

ive noticed that distraction does seem to work. its not the greatest when were out for a meal tho - he will just cry as long as there is food. i tink hes deffo curious to lots of different tastes. as soon as he sees his bottle or food bowl he knows its coming and starts to moan and groan and does this little twisty face.

hes always been the same since he was a baby with his bottle - never had any problems with him leaving milk. he would drinkj everything and cry for more afterwards which is why i weaned him early at 16 weeks he was drinking 9/10oz at a time.

i think distraction may b the key - will just have to keep a top with me at all times.

i just want meal times to be nice and calm!

I found with Stephen that it helps to give him more bits of finger food because that occupies him longer and so he doesn't get as stroppy that I'm not feeding him fast enough! xxx
