Also I have worn daily disposables for nights out etc and found them ok, but are monthly ones a faff with all the cleaning??

hmm I dont think so tbh, its been a while though, I used monthlys for £10 a month, must be 5 years ago, then I used dailys for £20 a month

Check this place, they are one of the cheapest i ever found http://www.contactlensesexpress.co.uk/Products.php

Dailies are MUCH easier - no solution and they feel amazing compared to monthly

I had my eyes laser a few years back so dont buy lenses anymore

ETA (sorry I typed £10 a month for dailies - i meant £20 lol)

Ahhhh thank you ladies. Dry eyes were the one thing I was worried about, i think dailies might be more my thing. I will look at these as i also didn't want the faff of direct debits with Specsavers etc.

Lisa - if you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for laser surgery??

Yeh, so long as they have stabilised, I know LisaGs are still changing, so she couldn't do it yet.

If you don't have stupid eyes like me (thin cornea) then you can get the really quick painless one, and can see within a day!

I went for a consultation about laser treatment and it would have been about £1400 but you could have interest free credit for a year so in effect i could have paid £120 a month for the year and that would have been that, i know its still a lot but i thought it was a do-able sort of amount. Anyways i couldnt have it done but may be worth looking into the interest free option.

In terms of lenses, i have daily disposables and have found them to be really good - i get 20 pairs per month for about £20 but mine are a bit more expensive i think as they are a high oxygen one as i get dry eyes. I have been known on occasion to wear a pair for 2 days running and my eyes have not yet fallen out Shocked

I use monthlys and pay £60 for six months for the lenses and solution. They give you way too much solution though so the next six months i just buy the lenses and thats £25. I have used dailys as well and i didn't really notice a different between them comfort wise. i stick with the monthlys cause it's cheaper. There's no real fuss cleaning. I just take them out put them in the case and put the solution in, pretty easy.
