When we moved house, our gas/electricity realised they'd messed up our last bills and so we owed £220. Fine, I paid that and they started the switch over for the new house. We have key meter thingys here atm and wanted to change and they told us it would cost £100 per meter. I think thats a ridiculous amount so we've been thinking about whether to go ahead or not. I've just looked at my email and they've sent me a bill. Called them up and after about 20mins on the phone they've realised it's another of their mistakes. Then the guy got talking about changing meters and apparently it's only £50 per meter. Bloody ridiculous, just seems whoever we talk to says something different and it's just one mistake after another. Seriously going to look into other companies.

EOn. Have to pay cause we haven't been with them for over a year. I'm wondering whether to suffer with the key meter till oct then get the other meter free. the electricity seems to last long enough, but gas is ridiculous.

oh right! yeah the gas is rediculous, i keep meaning to ring and get mine changed(iv sinced changed suppliers)bet i will have to pay seeing as iv not long since changed suppliers ahh well at least its summer nearly so you shouldnt use half as much on gas xx

We've been with E-On for years and when we bought one of our houses it had the pre-pay meters, we rang them up and they changed them for free. I would ring them again and say because of the inconvenience the least they could do is change them for free. xx

yeah I reckon after the mistakes they've made out of curtesy they should do it for free. going to talk to hubby and then call back later x

We had to swap our meter with Eon. We used to have one that was for a Heatwise plan and to change plan we needed a new meter. They charged us £50 for it xx

were with E on but on key but only electric and find the rates quite good x

We were with Eon at our last home. The supplier of meters was British Gas and hate them so had to change that asap. What problems you had with Eon?

they are money grabbers!.

our meters here were Eon. so we rang them to take them away. they want £50 for each meter plus we had to wait 6 months for them to check we could pay the gas and elec.

so we phoned southern up who changed it for nothing

I think i'm going to call some other companies as i've just remember they wanted to do a credit check before they changed the meters too, and being 20 and never had a credit card i always fail credit checks even tho i've never been in any debt.

they said the same to us but after 6 months!!! takes the pee

thats ridiculous. im just on hold with edf atm, hopefully they can do it for free
