im doing the slimfast thing, fruit for brekkie, milkshake for dinner and a balanced meal for tea (hahaha...yeah) anyway, it says you can have 3 healthy snacks a day, which is fine..... but does anybody much about diet stuff, are you allowed more calories if your up all day and night? I get uber hungry at work around 3am so generally take a snack or some soup or something

I use to work nights and found that I had to eat my main meal while on my break at work.
I use to eat breakfast at lunch time, lunch with the family and dinner at about 3am lol if I was hungry in between I'd have fruit or sugar free jelly. I managed quite well on that tbh.

Working nights makes you prone to weight gain BUT this is only because it's very easy to eat an extra meal or cpl extra snacks without realising.

Technically it makes no difference what times you eat if your calorie intake and activity level stay the same as if you were working days.

You may require extra calories if you awake - and active!, for 20 hrs but its prob only 100-200. Not an extra meals worth! Soup is a good choice because they make you feel fuller for longer and most tins are around 200cal, Weight watchers one's or slim a soups would be half that.

Do as kell says and try and space your meals out to suit you. x

hmmmm.
I guess it does change really because usually i'd do what i do during the day, and then go to bed and sleep,
but on nights i do the same as usual during the day (unless i have a sitter for 2-3 hours to sleep after a nightshift) but then i go to work, and walk about for i'd say 10 out of the 12 hours. I can see it shouldnt change if i was working all night and sleeping all day. but im awake and active both day and night.

i usually have nothing or fruit for brekkie, milkshake, a meal then i would take to work something like an apple, banana and pack of quavers or cupa soup, so i guess really its only the soup thats extra cos i very rarely have a snack during the day.

i feel really lethargic at the mo, even though its not like its a massive cut down, the only change is usually i would have a sandwich and pack o walkers for dinner instead o the shake.
