just had mw come and do the birth plan, now MY BIRTH PLAN as been epidural since i found out i was pg, mainly because i'm a wuss, but also because i have a prolapsed disc which means any kind of back pain is intensified and last time with rich it was the back pain that hurt more than the actual giving birth bit, so had epidural and i had a very pleasant experience of labour.

anyway they just asked about pain relief and i said gas and air and then epi and apparnetly i wont need it,

how the eck does she know what i'm going to need, does she know i'm a wuss and hate being in pain, no lol

but i've had constant pain throughout this pg with spd and sciatica and now the backs kicking in, so likely not be able to feel my legs much over coming weeks as the disc hits the nerve, i think its ok for a mom to ask for epi.

i know i should try without and i probably will, but i always want the option that if i can then i will take it, no point puitting me in complete agony so i'm on strong painkillers and cant breast feed again after, which is what happened last time.

as you can probably tell i'm very upset over this, i got consultant on thursday after scan, to see if bubs is breach i'll discuss it with him again then.

i know i'm probably being silly but i just want whats best for bubs and mommy being into much pain after is not the mom i want bubs to meet

just put your foot down hun and tell them that's what needs to happen.

It is your birth plan and your decision. Unless there is some medical reason and risk to you or bubba they should respect your wishes

From my experience hun we never even looked at birth plan I did for Hannah the MW in hosp just asked me what the plan was etc, and I asked for an epi with Hannah and they started sorting it there and then (me never having the time for it was a totally different things after jumping from 4 -9 cms in like10 mins,while trying to put the line in my hand) I think if you want an epi just ask on the day and as long as your not too far gone etc I dont see why they wont do it??? you never knows whats going to happen when your in labour anyway so as nice as birth plans are i do think they are a load of rubbish in the sense that you cant 'plan' a labour

thanks ladies, i know that labour doesnt go as planned, eck life doesnt, but she annoyed me, plus had student with her and was learning from the student what is availalble at the hospital.

think i will say when i go in thats my plan and see how things go

i'll be glad when bubs is here now
