hmm I'm just wondering if this sounds like Elijah is poorly or if anyone elses little one has done this - Elijah used to be a regular 24 hour boy, then for quite a while went to 4 days. Anything between 2 and 4 days is normal for him now, but today he has had 4 mmmmmaaaaassive poos

He seems totally fine, quite cheery and only a normal amount of grumbly, but during the past week he has been chewing his fist and soaking his clothes with dribble, so he might be starting to teeth - can this affect things???

Also, the poo is normal for him (nice luminous bf poo haha) so I don't really think he is ill and he is feeding normally, but it seems so abnormal for him to poo so much (also it is much more explosive and noisy than usual) - any ideas? he has never poo'd so much in one day (not even 12 hours)

Is he eating more and going through a growth spurt? Teething deffo makes Amelia poo more and always has done.

You haven't changed anything in your diet have you? I used to find that Amelia would have more gas/explosive poops when I had eaten onion.

I have to say that Amelia went through stages too. She went from pooping multiple times a day to once every 4 days and then to 2 a day and then back up to multiple poops and now back to 2 a day. She was exclusively bf for 12 months x

gracie still does this when she has her teeth coming through hun he ould have them settling in the gums but i normally find that they are a little more loose and stiky sorry tmi

weird! Haven't eaten anything weird, the only thing that changed was a couple of weeks ago we changed the formula we use - but he only gets 4oz a day (and none today cos I've been at home all day) so I doubt it's that! It's definitely gassy but it's hard to tell if its loose cos its always loose

Thanks ladies, maybe it is just his teeth moving about - god, I hope he doesn't get proper teeth anytime soon! He is feeding loads, but he feeds a lot anyway, it's so hard to tell whats unusual when things change so quickly

I think at that age is when they start finding there hands (hence the fist chewing) and they start dribbling which they can't get to the back of their mouth to swallow and can seem like they're teething but is just normal development. The extra poohs could just be beause he is swalling some of this new extra baby goo

haha its still happening and hes much clingier today (I'm holding him as I type so he will sleep) but no temperature or anything so hopefully it will just play itself out
