What do you mean by toddler bed? Charlie has a cot bed so just take the sides of and it's a low bed. We got ours from toys r us, it was quite expensive but you can get cheaper ones.

Hey,

This seems quite cheap, i cant actually remember where I got Andrew's from and Sophie's was a cotbed so just took the sides off hers

Matresses are reasonably priced on there too!

Alternatively my friend got her little girl a single bed that is quite low to the ground in B&M for £50 which would last longer than a toddler bed?

Chloe just has a normal single bed that's fairly low, we already had it before she came along and it will last her forever, will just need to replace the mattress every now and then, I don't really see the point in toddler beds, this is the one we have and she can get in and out without any problem

I would defo say if cost is an issue then get a normal single bed. theres no point buying a toddler bed only to have to replace it in a year or two.

I agree with Steph, we went for a normal single bed as it seemed silly getting a toddler bed to replace it with a normal bed in a few years time scratch

We got ours brand new from an ebay store for £55 (+£10 p&p) then my mam had a spare mattress.

(They seem to have gone up a lot in price, but this is what were got)

I would also have a look in B&M, I seen some nice ones in there at bargain prices

Argos do toddler beds as well. I have just had 2 off my brother and sister in law as the bed we had for Hannah just wasnt right for us, it was an old 'loft' bed and she had started biting all the metal bars round it making herself bleed.

I was wondering why you didnt want 2nd hand? They dont stay in them that long, and if you buy a new mattress then its not really a problem. we have loads offered on freecycle by us, so if you werent too fussed you could always put a wanted ad on there and see what response you get?

xx

I don't want second hand mainly for health as I am wary that anything could be on that bed... I feel safer having brand new. Embarassed
Thanks for the advice ladies, OH agrees that a single bed is the bes option long term x
