| In this crazy world we live in with all sorts of terrible things happening, it got me thinking,
do you think some people are born evil?!
I personally think we all get a choice in life... i.e for all them thiefs & murderers out there, that is what they have decided to be, they wernt born that way no one was, yes some people get ill, but i dont think it should be used as an excuse, to get people off the hook |

| I dont think that people are born evil. I believe that choices through life, and choices that our parents contributed to our lives, contribute to who we will become when we grow up. x |

| I dont think people are born evil, everything in your life contributes to the person you will become, but at the end of the day everyone has there own mind and has a choice in life. |

| No body is born evil but then i also dont believe we are pure products of our circumstances either. I was bought up same way as both my sisters, two of us are nurses (well shes a student) and one is a lazy bum who would rather have handouts than work. Not criminals but shows that one has made the choice to be who she is and people sometimes need to stop bleating about how life made them what they are and man up and take some responsibility for their choices |

| I think we are a product of nature and nurture...I think some ppl are genetically predisposed to having issues psych/mentally wise..but at the end of the day, we all pretty much know right from wrong, and are presented with choices to how our lives will pan out. |

| I dont believe people are born evil. I honestly think it has 90% of how we are brought up and 10% personal choices we make in life.
If you are taught right from wrong and respect from an early age then you cant go too far wrong unless you choose to. Although there are the cases of people who have mental health issues etc which are medical and no amount of good bringing up will stop that developing. |

| I think some people yes, simply because I can not believe any other reason for things like young kids murdering Jamie Bulger - I find it hard to say it was kids being kids when they did such horrific 'evil' things to him. What in their short lives would have made them do that?! |

Although there are the cases of people who have mental health issues etc which are medical and no amount of good bringing up will stop that developing. See this is where it gets so fuzzy because sure a lot of criminals come from deprived circumstances but when you get someone who has had a nice upbringing, been shown lots of love and attention and still goes postal and machetes someone where do you turn then? Ive not put yes or no because i dont think its as cut and dried as that you have to factor in past environmental circumstances, present environmental circumstances, genetic pre disposition and personal choice. And this is probably a bit contraversial but i think personal choice is a huge part of that list and I dont think enough people these days take responsibility for themselves. I think we now have a culture of Oh Poor Me And My Circumstances. Its not me, it was those awful parents/videogames/tv programmes/e numbers/bad flatulence* delte as applicable. Nobody ever just holds up their hands anymore and says hey you know what i made that choice and i f*cked up. |

What in their short lives would have made them do that?! Its really distressing to think of it happening but unfortunately by the age of 10 a few kids may have witnessed domestic violence on a daily basis, have witnessed or even been forced to participate in sexual abuse of their siblings, been physically and sexually abused themselves... Im not saying that every child that experiences this goes on to mimic the behaviours or for one minute am I excusing the disgusting things those boys did to an innocent toddler. I am just making the point that some kids literally come from unimaginable backgrounds were there is no morals or consequences. I know of one SW who went to a home visit and a 3yr old dangled a kitten over the flames of the lounge fire and said he was going to drop it in - the parents or older sibblings didnt bat an eyelid. I know nature has a part to play but I severely doubt if those boys had been brought up (just for purposes of an extreme example), christain parents who attended church every sunday, went to a small village school, only watched childrens tv and were tucked up in bed with a cuddle & a story at 7pm would they done what they did. I love a good debate lisa! Im just waiting on you coming back at me with a ton of statistics to shatter my beliefs. My problem is im very easily swayed! Be gentle with me lol. |

| LOL Snoopy!
I don't have facts or anything to back up what i think really! I will quote a few things that have kinda swayed me though
"I had the fantasy, and in the end I fulfilled it," he said. The fantasy first developed between the ages of eight and 12, he added.Mr Meiwes spoke of how he felt ignored by his father, and longed for a good-looking younger brother - whom he would bind to himself forever by consuming.''makes me think - hmmmmmmmmm 8 years old and wanting to eat someone? (that was a cannibal by the way!)
''Consider the case of Gary Gilmore - the American murderer whokilled a hotel clerk in Utah, then killed a student the followingnight, and was fatally shot himself a year later by a firing squad- which was chronicled by Norman Mailer in his 1979 book TheExecutioner's Song.Gilmore had a brother, Frank, who turned out to be as peaceableand inoffensive in character as Gary was violent anddestructive.Their mother, Bessie, was perplexed, for she brought them uptogether. 'One son picked up the gun,' she said. 'The other did notpick up the gun. Why?' Nobody has been able to offer her afully-inclusive answer." I often think this - how can 2 people brought up the same end up so different? Although from that same article there are many more arguments against the idea that some people born that way! | i see alot of horrid things in my job on a daily basis, reading childresn lifes and what happens to them, but most often you could be reading the parents lifes as children too.
i dont think anyone is born evil, but sometimes its hard to justify or understand what a person does to another person or child.
i think its to do with nature and nurture and personality |
