Matthew is nearly 9 months old and he has a mashed dinner at lunchtime which will be something like chicken and vegetables, fish pie, lentil bake, lamb stew etc.

He's started to want to feed himself more so for tea I've been giving him more finger foods. We've tried darylea sandwiches, toast and marmite, peices of omlette, fish fingers and veggies and cubes of cheese. All of these he likes but i'm struggling for more ideas, i tried strips of chicken and peppers today but he wasn't having any of it so it was back to toast again!

So what do you feed your lo's for tea?

Rosie loves crumpets, she'd eat them for every meal if she could.

When she first started feeding herself I did pretty much the same as you do, but did her wraps with cheese and tomato or tuna and Cheese on toast as well. She used to eat loads of cucumber, but I think that helped soothe her teeth too.

She used to hate chicken on its own at first, but I persevered and she's fine with it and now.

thanks I think i'll give the crumpets a go, may need to give the cucumber a while though as he only has 2 teeth!!

Hi Matilda was the same, not too sure with finger foods, not many teeth wasnt helping. Though Eggy Bread was and still is a faviourite and she loves cheese so I make eggy cheese bread. Its quite soggy but tasty so nice to gum bite and suck on.

we give Tyler soreen fruity malt loaf, pitta breads, bread sticks, babybel, omelette, fruit sticks, veg sticks, biscuits, he's had a chip but didn't really like it, eggy bread
we've got bread crumbed chicken to try him on but I'm not sure...
erm, pizza made out of muffins with some tomato puree and cheese on?

ummmm. lasagne (although mite be a bit messy unless you leave it to stand for a day so it sets a bit)
