She is away down in Devon with Darcy (horse) - but she traveled there with a friend so doesn't have her car ..and its a long way

She left on Sunday and isn't due back til Monday...and her little doggy is really ill

She couldnt get up on Sunday afternoon so my dad took her to the vets, she has a really bad infection and something wrong with her kidneys (she is 14 so 98 in human years!) my dad has asked them to keep her going but he has said he needs to 'decide' tomorrow night, and if she hasn't got any better he thinks he will bring her home and have her put to sleep...

He really doesn't know what to do, cos Mini is my mums dog that she went to buy with Vikki so her not being there when Mini goes to sleep would be just awful .... but he doesn't want to make Mini suffer.

There is pretty much no way my mum can come home cos she obviously has Darcy and he cant just hop on a train, and for my dad to go and get her would be a 10-12 hour round trip.

So just feel so sad for my mum, cos I know I would be heartbroken if Biggles got ill when I was away

aww that's awful, hopefully the vet can give her some pain medication so she is ok to hang on a few more days

Gosh that's so sad and what an awful situation. I had my mildred put to sleep in nov 2009 and I held her. I'm so glad I was with her. She was 14 and very ill

Aww I hope she manages to hold on until your mum gets back and isn't in too much pain. Our dog is 14 too I dread to think when the day comes when she is no longer here.

aww hun, what an awful predicament for your dad to be in,

when i was away in greece my mom and dad made the decision to have my cat put down and told me after, i was devastated but there was no way i could go home to be there, but it still hurt.

if your dad can get pain killers so the dog can hold on till you rmom returns would probably be the best option but i can understand that he doesnt want the dog to suffer.
