Feel like I haven't been able to get on for ages.. busier with work and having to borrow my poor dad's pc to get my banda fix! Anyway, hoping to move in a couple of weeks, looking for a cheap (but new!) sofa - 2 seater will be fine as we"ll have that and hopefully a couple of big squidgy beanbags, fake-leather so it's easy to wipe up when i throw my tea all over it Any ideas where would be cheap? Not much on Argos, Tesco direct was ok-ish..

Also, in general, how long does it take to get broadband installed/switched on? If we don't have broadband straight away we will be screwed as I won't be able to work, so I wondered if that would be one more thing to stress about

At least all this worrying is taking my mind off the fact i'll be giving birth in 8 weeks

Our broadband is with virgin, as is our tv & phone package. We needed to be connected as house was hooked to sky originally. I think it took about 3 weeks for them to come out once we rang them. They gave us a date though so we were able to plan for them coming. Id advise ringing them as soon as you get your new address and not wait until the day you move in.

As for sofa's erm what about DFS (you either love it or hate it), ikea, asda....

Argh, its a shame you dont live closer to Northampton. We have a place called Sofa King here and they do all sofas so cheap as they are catalogue returns.

We're with post office for phone&broadband I think it took 2wks.

As for sofas I can only think of Argos but you said they didn't have anything. Maybe homebase, they always have 15% off weekends too.

umm, we use a dongle, get 15gigs for 9.50 a month. its pretty good

ikea is not bad for sofas but you would probably have to rent a van to get it home which adds to the cost as their delivery is SO expensive. if you are going with virgin once you have an address you can arrange in advance having someone to come and connect you so you can have it booked for a day or two after your move if you ring soon
