Hey,

I wondered if any of your give your kids lunches for school?
Tommy is not interested in school dinners and has has packed lunches since he started school.

I just wondered if you had any ideas what i can put in them? Not he's in junior school the will not let them have crisps, chocolate or anything remotely treat orientated and the wont allow juice [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
only water.

I have been giving him a sandwich, perrerarmi *sp a yogurt or little pot of jelly and a piece of fruit. i'm pretty sure he's gonna get bored of that every day for the next 3 years lol

Hi, My LO's not in school yet but it did get me thinking..
I found this if its any use..has some good idea's on for health foods and snacks but offers a variation too.
Also, what about stuff like thick smoothies, offering things like flavoured rice cakes etc.

I honestly didn't realise they didn't allow 'sweets' in Jr schools [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Wow, how things have changed, the highlight of my day was my 2 finger kit kat [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Or maybe this one - Has some good idea's like salads with a nice dressing on maybe (might go a bit soggy by lunch though [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ) But you can add fruits and such with lettuce, some cherry toms, carrot sticks etc

I haven't got any ides sorry but I cannot believe they won't allow juice [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Fruit juice classes as 1 of your 5 a day, so surely it would be better than water? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Strange [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] anyway those sites Zee found are great [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Probably due to health reasons, but also lunch boxes are like trainers lol, I loved my kit kat, but my friend always got a mars bar and I was sooooo jealous [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I have the same problem! Ryan is so fussy and the school also wont allow squash/crisps.

Ryan has most days

Sandwhich, yogurt, cheese dipper, and some tuc biscuits. If i put fruit in he wont eat it!!

Thanks for the links Zee.

i make either sandwiches or rolls. vary from sandwich fillers like eggy or chicken mayo to cold meats or cheese. occasionally iv been sneaking him nutella!!

i always put in a piece of fruit, yogurt/froob/tube thing cereal bar or one of the rice crispie type bars. i put in cheese strings or a dairylea snack pot, and a flavoured water

we also aint allowed to give them fizzy drinks, fruit shoots, sweets, choc or crisps!!!! yet they sell them in the tuck shop [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

leo used to have packed lunch: sandwich, wrapp or cold pasta...he even took pasta bolognase one day Laughing
usually a cheese string or baby bell
a cerial bar or one of them fruit bar things
a yoghurt
fruit, but would chose different things, sometimes grapes, sometimes apple ect
