We fed Alyssa earlier and about half an hour after her feed she brought around half of it back up, we have just nicely fed her again and again she has brought up pretty much all of a feed? I'm worried that something is wrong XX

Jamie sometimes does this. The first thing to remember is that it looks a lot more than it is. Its probably nothing. Just keep an eye out for dehydration and if it continues take her to the dr.

| Oh I remember this. Rowan had reflux so it could be this or she's rather greedy.
It always looks more then it is. If you can get it into a cup or jug for measuring how much. Not easy though but doable |

Thanks hun, she's definitely greedy so I'm trying to slow her down when she's taking the milk, but it wouldn't suprise me if it isn't reflux. The dr that rung me back didn't seem much use, so think i will speak to someone in the morning and see what they say. Her nappy was still wet when I changed it before her last feed, just not as wet, but then she didn't take in as much milk XX

sounds like reflux if its half an hour or so after feeding Gracie had this, she would over feed her body take what it needed and reject the rest x x

elijah used to do this (hmm still does!) because a) he is a greedy boy who doesn't know when to stop sometimes b) he had reflux and c) he liked the comfort of feeding even when his tummy was full. speak to your hv/mw about it, my personal advice would be be careful about giving her things like gaviscon, infacol etc when she is so little - partly as she is still getting used to eating, and partly as if you give too many different things at once you will have no idea what worked/if she just grew out of it hope you figure it out soon, it could have just been a bad night for her

(ps it might be worth stopping mid feed, burping her and giving her a minute to decide if she is still hungry, sometimes this worked with eli and he forgot he was feeding )

At that age her stomach is only about the size of a large grape, they only bring back up what they don't need. It's totally normal, Natural to worry though.

Hun, I think it's quite common. My middle one used to puke after most bottles. The gp said that as long as he was retaining some of the feed then not to worry. If she carries on like this take her to the baby clinic to see the hv. x

Aimee used to do this. It was normally because she didnt burp in time so what milk went in and settled above the air bubble came back up. xx

She's on Size 1 teats, but she does suck pretty quickly, the feeds since then have stayed down, touch wood and shes pooing and weeing ok. MW said that as long as she is doing that then she should be fine, she is due to be weighed tomorrow anyway so they are happy to just wait until then. Thanks for all your advice ladies, its worrying stuff being s first time Mummy xx
