could be in excess of 5k but if you know someone handy you could probably get what you need from the scrap yard and get it fitted cheaper if you lived closer marc would do it for you hope he is ok hun xxx

It won't be cheap! I know I had a bumper just repaired resprayed and that was in the hundreds - and that is loads worse

Is it not possible to go through the insurance - certainly with a jobbie that big the excess would be worth taking on the chin!

I dont even understand excess and insurance tbh! His insurances in 15000 as it is! Grrr Where do u live suzie, surrey is it?

His excess is 600 apparently x

I have no idea hun, it all depends on what (if any) internal damage has been done and the force that you hit.

We have been hit up the arse twice in the last 4 months, the first time our car was parked up and there was £4,800 worth of damage and the car was in the garage for 10 weeks. The second time was in traffic and was just a few hundred pounds worth of damage and a couple days in the garage.

It should only cost you the excess on your insurance though hun but will put your premiums up when you renew.

Thanks everyone, Lukes fine, he was on his way to work and went up some ones arse, the driver in front of the driver he went into was being a prick apparently and kept braking then speeding so the driver he hit slammed his brakes on but luke wasnt quick enough. So it was lukes fault as he should of kept his distance, slowed down and paid more attention. The other care came out fine and so was the driver.
He was only doing 30mph too, although it looks more but he never goes over the speed limit.
This is the last thing we need at tho mo, hes only had the car 3/4months and its skinted us
Also we were meant to be going to chessington 2moz!

That repair will cost loads more than the £600 excess, tbh even if your premium went up loads I think it would be less than paying for it yourself!

Ok thats Lisa, hes rang the insurers and they are picking it up 2moz and should have it back with in 7-10days which i think is good x

Just to update you, the garage rang and the work/repairs will cost between £2700 and £3500 But will pay the excess of £600.

Is his insurance due anytime soon?
I had my car written off by someone i payed the excess but my renewal has just come throguh and has doubled because of it xx
