wellllll, i took elijah to the doctors last week as he has a few weird spots on his skin, 2 on his face, a couple on legs, back and arms...it looked like ringworm to me but doctor says it isnt because it isn't spreading/connected to one another..

so we are trying to figure out what it is, it doesn't seem to be itchy or sore but it is definitely getting larger. we tried daktarin as prescribed but it seems eli is allergic to it and came out in a vile rash so im not going to try that again.

this is all a bit beside the point but might be connected - the doctor said oh i see he has caught the sun a bit and i was like....um no? so he says yeah, he has a bit of a tan. which got us onto elijah's skin in general - his face (mostly the bottom half) is yellowy/orange. we often give it a wipe cos it looks like he has food on it but it seems to be quite permanent - at yoga today the woman was like ohhh elijah i see you have been eating carrots! (he hadn't)

so really in a VERY roundabout way - does anyone else have a yellow toddler? his chest/tummy etc are not yellow (i can spot it a mile away). the doctor says he wonders if it is discolouration from eli having jaundice til nearly 5 months - and wants to refer us to dermatology for this and the weird rash....

any thoughts? i dont want to go near google!

haha thanks! we are going to try and reduce the amount of red/orange things he eats over the next couple of weeks and see it that helps!

Libby looked like she had a fake tan on and too much had gone on her nose when she was Eli's age she used to have alot of sweet potato, butternut squash, carrots etc so that's why x

he does have loads of carrot/pasta sauce usually with tomato base/sweet potato/bright orange jars

I'll bet thats what it is then hun, my mum reckons I was the same and I used to eat loads of carrots. I'm surprised your doc didnt consider that though xx

nah he didn't mention it he thought it was to do with the jaundice - but then he did prescribe us cream that wasn't suitable for children so i had to go back!
