I do all mine online (Well try) so I cant wonder off any buy random crap! saying that I do like to go shopping as its only time I get out (Sad case hey!!)

I also make a meal plan, I find it cheaper and I feel more organised (sane) if honest.

I buy alot of potatoes, and sweet pots. But use them for most like you steph, chips, wedges etc rather than buy stuff.

I buy big bags of stuff too like rice and pasta, so much cheaper and always will get eaten up.

Also I find the cheap stuff (mean the dirt cheap no frills lol) can be alright I put in extra spices, herbs, sauce in and its ok.

ooo good post i like this...we're always skint and we run out of food, and then end up spending £30 on abso crap that only lasts us 2 seconds, so any ideas would be fab!!
how do you go about doing a meal planner?? I'm not that good at cooking actual meals, like baking should i say really...i'm ok with things like pasta meals, sunday roasts, spagetti bolognese etc...
any easy recipes for me to follow that don't cost an arm and a leg, and won't go off within 2 seconds, as there's only the 3 of us, and atm benji only eats a spoonful or a fingerful should i say lol

We're really tight with our food. We spend £50 a month, then just top up on milk and bread &the occasional treat.

We buy a lot of tinned things. Chilli con carne for example, 49p a tin but to make it seperately costs a fair bit more. We add chopped toms and veg sometimes too fill it out but generally one tin is enough for all of us.
Also chunky chicken is £1 tin in asda, we have this a lot with veg and i add water to stretch it cause the sauce is thick.
We get those cheap tinned hot dogs as well as cut those up and put with pasta and a basic cheese sauce, makes a really cheap meal.

We tend to buy our meat frozen too, this saves a lot of money. You can get a big bag of chicken portions for £3.99 (i find sainsburies the nicest but asda or tesco are good too). These last us the month and they are great to put in the slow cooker with some veg and stock.
Frozen pork chops we get too, they look gross in the bag but once cooked they are actually nice, that with mash and gravey is another cheap meal. I buy instant mash cause weirdly i prefer it but big bag of potatoes is fairly cheap too.

Tinned fruit/frozen veg is also another cheap way of doing things. It means nothing goes off and also you dont go back to the supermarket lots to stock up on more fresh fruit/veg but end up buying a load of other things.
