I am really stuck about what to do with my work situation I have been off work for about5 weeks with on going back,hip and ankle problems I tried to go bk to work 2 weeks ago and lasted an hour before I was in pain again! I'm starting to think to job Is to heavy for me I enjoy my job but my bones are getting worse and worse I dunl what to do I feel to pressure about going back as my mum (the boss) keeps saying you will be back to work on Friday but I am in so much pain still I don't know what to do! I think I need to look for another job but not much on the island

Sorry for being ignorant but is there something medically wrong with your bones? There obviously is something as it's causing so much pain but if you've not been diagnosed then maybe your mum thinks you will get better. If there is something wrong then you obviously do need to follow professional advice and if the job is just too much you need to look something less strenuous. Maybe your mum could you find you a different job but at the same place?

char am i wrong in thinking you have arthritus ( sp ) or something similar ,

would you be eligable for disability living allowance ? , i know its not ideal but working in a care sector is so wrong with your bones , i know there are now lots of gadgets for lifts but you will be putting so much pressure on your back and what not in that job.

I dont know what job you do, but if you think its to heavy then maybe you should look for something else...or like mentioned previously if you have medical conditions preventing you from working you maybe able to get some benefits.
would an office job or a receptionist job something like that be better, where you dont have the physical strain of you job, and can sit to do something.

It shouldn't be a hard choice Char, your health is far more important then any job, can you not ask to be transferred to a less physical role within your work? If not than I would get yourself looking for something else asap xx
