braden can now open stairgates (boooooo) and obviously he shares a bedroom with miss dita the daredevil, i am absoloutly terrified that he is gna open the gate at night and we wont wake up and dita will try out doing headstands, roly polys and cartwheels down the stairs and land on her pretty little head, so do we take the stairgate off and shut their bedroom door, do we latch it? do we just rely on the creaking of the door waking us up? We will have a stairgate on top of stairs too. heeellppppp!x

Umm get an electric gate? Put barbed wire around it? Let the kids sleep in the dogs cage?

Teach them both the correct way to get up and down the stairs ie Crawl up and on your bum coming down. My dad taught ellie this as soon as she was mobile. My dad is very anti stairgates as he worries about the kids climbing over them and tripping over the bottom bar etc. But I choose to ignor him and still have one but to be honest ours is permanently wedged open as ellie is very good on the stairs (touch wood and all that).

Immy opens stairgates too, but i am now beginning to relax a bit with Isla on the stairs. However, Isla is still in a cot so we don't have to worry about her during the night.
