I just dont think I can cope with this 'toddler' time, without ending up seriously emotionally scarred......!!

I go between complete adoration, to wanting to run screaming from the front door, to sobbing in the kitchen....and all this at least 10 times a day!

She is going to send me stark raving potty!

We play games, we sing songs, we go walking, we watch programmes, we dance, we go to classes each week, we do gardening together..........so fluffin WHY WHY WHY WHY does she

- throw wobblers
- scream, and lash out
- hate Jess getting any attention (who, by the way is also screaming! Shes a serious crier)
- kick Jess or the dog....if SHE gets shouted at!

Is this purely terrible 2's, and how do I combat it! Ive started a chart but its early days - IS THIS NORMAL??

To top it off, we started with some toilet basics today....and she jumped up and announed 'off a nappy now mummy', she took it off and proceded outside to sit on her potty in the garden................and I was so proud!!!! UNTIL she got up again, walked over to the plants in the border where she squatted, peed, and yelled 'Isla go wee wee like Ralfie' !!! (The dog!!!)

What the hell do I do with her?????

Hi Hun,

We haven't trained em yet on the potty so I'm not much help. But em can be a real pain. Moaning, hitting her sister and other kids, pushing her sister and other kids. Occasional bites.

Sadly I think they're just being being toddlers. A very shitty and tough stage but try and think of all the nice things you do. Doesn't help. I swear somedays I could go out and slam my head in the car boot. Feel for you babe.

I can sympathise Lisa, The winging, wineing they do..omg Shocked Olivers just had a really bad week of it, which funnily enough coincided with half term scratch He literally moaned about every little thing. So now if he starts wingeing he gets 1 warning, then he goes to his room or a room on his own until he calms down. So far its working well. I just can't tolerate this 'teenage' strop every time I ask him to do something - so aim to nip it in the bud asap Laughing

As for the hitting or lashing out I personally would pop her in her room/different room/time out spot/pram straight away for 2 mins..I'd tell her that it will not be tolerated Uh Uh! Again, O went through the hitting stage and I removed him from the situation straight away and made him have time out (Sometimes I had to restrain him) but again he got the message and that was nipped in the bud straight away.

Just be consistent with the discipline Smile

As Mandy said, what about nursery..maybe just a bit of time away from each other (in a good way) and gives her chance to be one to one with other kiddies her own age. I'm a SAHM, and was going to toddler groups, outings with mummy friends, parks all sorts..and he'd still get wingey with me - I think they just get bored of 'us' and need time away.

As for the potty training - just go with the flow. 'Yes, you did a wee like Ralfie, but Isla does wee wee's on the potty - not in the bushes Wink '
