the nerve of some people _
PostSubject: the nerve of some people   the nerve of some people EmptyTue Jun 21, 2011 3:46 am

so today i had to go food shopping, as i didnt get chance the weekend, it was a busy weekend..

so i went this morning to town and registered lucas, finally changed my name at the bank so i'm now married on my cards, only took 3yrs to do it lol.

then went to morrisons, lucas had a bottle an hour and half before i went in, so should be fine i think, no as soon as i put his milk in the trolley, he starts screaming, bottom lip trembling, so half way around, i pick him up and he starts moaning but least the screaming stops.

get to till pushing one handed, putting shopping in, talking to lucas to calm him, being stopped every 2 mins by some person, saying awww how old? is he hungry? and the pity looks Rolling Eyes

put food on till, lucas back in trolley seat at this point, screaming, old woman comes up and says as she lifts her hand towards him, do you want me to hold him while you sort your shopping, i say no politely and take him out the trolley, cashier as kindly started to pack bags, so i let her contiue and stand rocking lucas.

old woman " i am a grandma and was a teacher" i'll take him why you sort shopping, " me at this point, still politley "no your ok, we nearly done now"

old woman "maybe next time you should feed him before you do the shooping then he wont be upset"

so at this point i'm fuming, so instead of talking to her i talk to lucas and say
" little man you were fed an hour ago, you always sleep at this time, its not all that bad mommy here and no one is going to take you from mommy"

she got the hint and walked away.....

i know i'm probably overreacting, but the thought of some stranger touching him, let alone holding him freaks me out, i thought i was polite.

oh and the little bugger fell asleep as soon as i put him in car seat lol

please tell me i'm not alone in thinking there are some weridos out there,

I would have emptied a nappy on her head for that, cheeky woman! wanting to hold him is scary enough (for us mums anyway) but telling you you should have fed him!! I would have flipped at that part! Feeding them doesn't solve everything (especially when you've just blimming well fed them!) sometimes they just need a hug and mum time.

I remember hearing this horrible story when I was in japan, a woman offered to hold a lady's newborn while she was paying for her things, walked round the corner with the baby and broke the poor little baby's arm on purpose. Sad $%&^*(& monster. Then she just gave the baby back to the mum saying, "oh, i don't know why she's crying". Evil or Very Mad She got arrested, so hopefully she's having lots of horrible things done to her now. Evil or Very Mad

Thats odd. Nice of her to offer, but i don't think many people would be happy to have a strangger hold their baby. Sounds like you were really polite, there was no need for her snide comments.

I found it hard letting some family members hold hannah. so Im with you its weird. I think I would have had a breakdown and cried if some stranger had offered to hold her.

hope your alright I remember how scary it all is with a newborn having to do things like shopping on your own. eek!!!

Gotta love helpful comments. I'm sure in offering to help she was only trying to be nice but maybe after a no once she should have left it. Bloody cheek on saying you should have fed him.

Why is it that people think shoving a bottle in a babies mouth is the answer to everything? I think its really weird offering to hold a strangers baby
