PostSubject: In pain!    In pain! EmptyMon Jun 20, 2011 6:17 pm

Hopefully it's not labour, as we haven't got the baby's room sorted yet affraid Very Happy

Yesterday evening I started get pains in my lower back and top of my legs, and lots of tightenings (been getting braxton hicks for a while but this is the first time i've felt anything in my back/legs). Got to the point where I couldn't stand up straight so I went to bed.. but couldn't sleep for the pain! It was worse when I lay down but I was too exhausted to sit up, ended up being in pain all night and getting no sleep Sad Felt like big pressure in my bum Embarassed felt like i needed a poo, but i didn't need a poo.. iykwim! scratch It's a bit better now I'm sitting up, but it's still painful to move, and a more constant pain, then with braxton hicks on top of that scratch

Any ideas what's going on? i think it's still way too early to be any sign of going into labour, especially as my hospital bag's not packed, the baby's room won't be finished until tomorrow-ish..argh! Laughing

Oooo no idea hun, my contractions were more tummy hardenings - lower back, but everyone is different.

Maybe best get checked out just in case?? How exciting though!!!

P.S. Might be an idea to get your bag ready - like NOW Wink

It does sound a little like the start of labour, but then i had a few hours/day where i felt like that from 37wks ish then Immi was a week late!

Good luck though hun, might be worth trying to get that bag sorted quick today. I wouldn't worry too much about the room, baby isn't going to know, as long as he has somewhere to sleep Smile

Haha, I'm in complete bag denial! I've been meaning to pack it all week, but that makes it all feel very real so I keep ignoring it affraid

I'm going to call my midwife soon to see what she says, hopefully baby will be staying put for a few more weeks yet though. Or at least until his sheets arrive! eh? You've all inspired me to go and pack my hospital bag though.. if I can get off the sofa! Will keep you all updated Wink

Haha, don't let me pop yet!! Mari, you'd better not think about doing my betting sheet for at least another month! That should hold him in Laughing

Kelly, how are you feeling today? Hope the pains have eased off for you!

I'm trying to get hold of my midwife which is apparently impossible.. Evil or Very Mad Aaahh lovely stress!

just so you both know, thats the type of pains i had on and off from about 35 weeks, and lucas was 9 days late.

but best to both get checked just in case.

as i thought it was the same pains, so ignored them, but he wasnt moving so was told to go in and be checked, to find i was in labour and 6/7cm dialated.....

really hope they dont keep you both waiting, thats the worst thing

Thanks Claire, left a message for the midwives to call me back at 10am, then again at 5pm, heard sod all so far Sad All I remember from having Milo is that the contractions were so painful that i couldn't move or lie down.. or sit up.. or basically do anything except cry in the corner - and this doesn't feel that bad at all so I'm hoping a have a few weeks yet. But I know what you mean, it would be nice to actually be able to get checked when you're worried!

If i don't hear back from the midwives, do you reckon I should leave it another day or call the labour unit? I called them this morning trying to get hold of my midwife, but they couldn't help as my midwives work outside the hospital's area.. Sad I've got an appointment at the labour unit this Wednesday anyway, so i don't know whether to hold on until then..

Fiiiiiinally got a call back from the midwife this morning, Rolling Eyes Laughing To be fair, she said it wasn't the best number to ring in an emergency but it wasn't bad enough for me to ring the labour ward, (and it's ages away) so who knows who I was supposed to ring!

Pains feeling much better now, still can't lie down very well, so she thinks baby is just in an odd position. Got a scan and check up tomorrow anyway so that's reassuring. Just ordered the final bits for my hospital bag, and baby's sheets, so that'll guarantee that nothing exciting will happen for a few weeks yet Laughing
