Took Caitlin to Dr this morning about her excema and mentioned that her nappys have been smelling of germolene on and off for a month or 2. Dr wants to rule out an infection so asked me to collect a sample and leave it in this week. Caitlin refuses point blank to wee in potty. I thought they would give me cotton swabs to place in her nappy and then wring out - no they've stopped doing that. Instead they have given me what I can only describle as a small pastic bag with sticky bits that I have to stick to her bits and let her run about with until she pee's. As if she will keep it on!! It looks so uncomfy. Here's a pic of one.... Anyone any experience of using this or any tips on how the hell to get her to keep it on?!

Bloody hell that had to be a man who invented that!!!! Hmm I have no advice on that but maybe if you put it inside the nappy it will collect a little bit? Good luck xx

erm? can you put a pair of loose trousers over it (PJ bottoms maybe?) and then just keep her as distracted as possible for as long as possible and hope for the best? xx

Blimey they really thats going to work well? Think Debs' idea is good, maybe some loose trousers and sit her infront of the tv so she's distracted, and keep giving her drinks. good luck!x

I would pop it on, stick a nappy on as normal, pants etc..give her a drink of something she really likes - milkshake/juice etc..stick her in a buggy and go for a walk. Hopefully the walk will be enough to distract her from it

Yeah im thinking a nappy or pants over it, else she is just going to pull it off, or wee loads and then pull it off Seems a very strange way of doing it! Ha it did make me laugh when i looked at it. xx

Well she has it on now with a nappy on top. Im not convinced its sealed properly as she was wriggling and kicking when I was trying to stick it to her - I would be too... She is distracted with peppa pig and a bowl of strawberries but atm doesnt seem fussed that its on her. Im worrying about taking it off now Its like menolin/micro pore sticky pad that is over her whole bits. Caitlins never had a plaster on or off before - think this might hurt! And I cant even take it off in bath as need the pee Bet the wee minx doesnt even pee. Iv gave her a big cup of her fave juice but she has barely touched it. Caitlin isnt a big drinker at the best of times. This could be a long night

have you got an elastic band? lol, sophie had to have one of these on before, and eventually she did do a pee, and it didnt hurt too much to take it off, basically, put an elastic band really tight to catch the wee, then maybe sponge the sticky bits to get the plaster bit off?

Actually wasnt too bad getting it off Just stood her up with her 2nd bowl of strawberrys (totally the wrong message to give a child who ate NO dinner ) and took it off slowly. Plaster was already a bit damp with pee in bits so was quite easy. Only a slight yelp of protest from Caitlin but no tears. Got the syringe and sucked it all up so all set for Drs again 2moro. All in all wasnt as bad as I thought!
