Does anyone know, can dogs get dead legs like we do?
Tyson has been limping on and off to the past two weeks but only when he gets up from being asleep. I think its the same leg every time though. But always goes after a while (after a stretch etc)
Do u think I should take him to the vets? Could it be a nerve or something or do u think its just a dead leg?
Also, do u have to have them registered at a vets and how much can i expect to pay (no pet insurance, yet...*gulp*) ?

My Grandad's dog has that and for him it's arthritis and there's nothing the vets have been about to do for him.

Frostie, my 4 year old lab collie cross, has this sometimes.

We have started giving him flexible joint supplements/ dog conditioning tablets and it seems to be helping.

my brothers dog had bad hips and the vet suggested glucosamine tablets (like we would take) so if they do suggest that his vet also gave him a handy tip - instead of paying vets bills for dog tablets, you can get glucosamine capsules with the oil in the middle, squish them open and put the gel/oil on the dogs food, apparently it's just the same, my brother did it for years and it helped sam loads Smile

green lipped muscle is also good.

I would look into insurance too before you see a vet - just incase.

theres something in the glucosamine and chondroiton tablets the vets will give you thats not in our human ones though. so the seraquin tablets from the vets will be more suitable.
