| Amelias angelcare monitor just went off by the time i got to our room her snuza was going off too. So I'm assuming she really did stop breathing. She seems fine now she looked at me like I was crazy when I picked her up. I'm totally panicking now. What if it goes off again and I dont hear it. Feckity feck, I thought things would get easier when she got to full term |

| ive honestly never moved so fast in all my life. I'm pretty sure both of them can't be false alarms at the same time. Me and oh are taking shifts tonight I'm staying up till the 4am feed then hes getting up with her till the next one. Were both too scared to sleep and leave her unattended.
I've got an appointment with her consultant tomorrow morning so I'll ask him about it. As far as I'm aware previous to this her last apnea episode was when she was 35 weeks but they werent concerned because she self corrected. |

| I can understand you staying up. Think I would too. Think it is quite common for babies though and she sorted herself out. Jamie has moments when he takes a deep breath and then seems to pause if you see what I mean and I would guess that would be long enough to set an alarm off. At least you have the consultant tomorrow. Hopefully he'll put your mind at rest |

That must have been so scary!
I hope you managed to get some sleep lastnight.
Hope the consultant can offer an explanation on why this happened

| i'd have stayed up all night too.
with the angelcare, you can hear the alarm on the parent handset.
i went to check on lucas other night and he was awake with rather foul odour, so took him out to change nappy and forgot the alarm.
russ came bounding up the stairs and said it was really loud on the monitor.
hope shes ok, and your ok now too xx |

| I spoke with the consultant and he said it's really common with prem babies. They just forget to breath. Apparently when their lungs mature it can sometimes take a while for their brains to catch up. He said to keep an eye on it but she should grow out of it eventually. |

| Well good news but not then for you cos you are gonna have a few heart stopping moments. Id let the snuza and angelcare shout for you when you are needed though hon dont stay up all night, you WILL hear it. And amelia doesnt need an exhausted mummy and you need to recover yourself from the last cpl months. Its not forever honey she will get stronger by the day and grow out of it xxx *Takes off mother hen hat* |
