First topic message reminder :Hey ladies, hope I havent missed much in the last few days.
I just thought I would let you all know what has happened with Aimee.
She went into hospital for the cardiac catheterisation and the stent procedure which we were expecting. We had a few problems on Wednesday and she was very distressed with all of the scans/xrays/bloods and they had to give up on the bloods in the end because they thought she was going to pass out with screaming so much
.
Anyway, she went down to theatre for her procedure yesterday, and he went in and had a poke around to see what was going on in her arteries and heart.
We finally got to see him yesterday evening when he had finished in theatre and he told us the best news ever. Basically, there is some slight narrowing, but nothing that he feels is of any concern right now. He decided not to put the stent in, or even do any ballooning.
He also said that her own artery (when she was born they used her own and also an artificial one, so she has two where one should be) is working really well and is growing with her. He even talked about taking her off all her meds, which will be decided at her next outpatients appointment in 6-8 weeks.
He said that he thinks she will be ok with just having scans regularly for the next few years and doesnt expect to have to go in and do the catheterisation for 3 to 7 years (we were told not to hold him to that, but he seemed confident, lol)!
I havent stopped crying since yesterday, im just so happy!
