read stuffs and feel really quilty many of you know ben is a noonie. he is to date features and brain/motor skills related. anything can appear right enuff but it isnt so im not worried bout it. well there is so many mummies on my FB who have kids/babies/toddlers with much more extreme types and i feel really guilty sometimes reading about their kiddies and the trials they are going thru. G-Tubes, heart surgery, drains in their brains... kidney failure.. u know the list is endless there is a girl in specific who has twins. one with noonans and one without, our babies are the same age. she is like me and very lucky our kids dont have any heart defects. where our stories were the same and challenges were the same, hers have now changed as something else has shown its self on her wee fella. it kinda makes me feel guilty for being so glad my baby hasnt and then i feel so bad for the mothers who face so much. and it puts me off posting wee updates bout ben. in case ppl see it as rubbing it in their face? same with the sleeping thing. i dont mean this to be offensive or bragging. but i do feel guilty cause.......... ben sleeps 10pm till 8am and has done for 2/3 weeks now. only time he wakes really is if he has done the nasty. im not making a point very well am i?! what im trying to say is. do u ever read stuffs bout people when it comes to kids and think. god im so lucky! then feel guilty for not having the trials some other people have? does any of that make sense ??

yeah i understand 1st hand nothing like yours but gracie was an angel from birth always slept from 9pm til 3am woke for 5 min feed and nappy change then back to sleep til 6am. Then from 8 weeks would sleep 8pm til 8am took all her feeds no colic or trapped wind just reflux which was sorted with gaviscon. My sister as a 10 week old who wont settle unless she is in a baby carrier will only eat 4oz of milk at a time suffers so bad with wind that she is litrally screaming all day she has been tried on all different medications and milk and nothing is helping. My sister is lucky if she gets 3 hours sleep of a night x i feel guilty that gracie was so good for me x

I think everyone feels like that in some way but you shouldn't feel guilty for being glad Ben doesn't have as bad symptoms as other children. I'm sure every single parent thinks exactly the same. I know that I see things on telly about disabled children or children that have something wrong with that and feel glad Tyler's ok then I feel guilty for thinking that way but it's only natural hun. You should defiantely give updates on Ben because there might be other people iny our situation who would benefit from seeing some positive things for a change x

Yeah, I totally get where you are coming from. Aimee does have a heart defect and has had open heart surgery, but even with this, I still feel like the luckiest person alive, so trust me, people wouldnt take any offence by you saying lovely things about Ben. It will come as a comfort to other mums who can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Im sure that you have not had an easy ride where Ben is concerned and you will have many worrying days to come, so make the most of the days where you feel lucky and cherish every one of them, without feeling guilty. x

I understand what you mean laura. I often feel guilty that I have 2 heathly girls when I know some people are really struggling ttc and some who have children who need more care and have endless appts etc. Anyway - Yes i dool feel guilty, but at the the same time this makes me more greatful of what I do have....i hope this is coming across the right way and that I dont seem like I am braggifng xx

thats what i worry bout. that ppl think im bragging. i dont think u are at all. every one should have at least a few moments of woo hoo bragging baby time dont get me wrong. i just dont want to be the person who comes across as... omg, in ur face or my babys better than ur baby because... kinda mumma or appear that im ungrateful for all that i do have

Its so sweet that you worry about it Laura, but I am sure that no other parent would ever see it as bragging like that. The way I see it, yeah, its unfortunate what Aimee has, but there are so many people worse off (just how you said you feel)... and the person who has an even worse off child will probably be thinking exactly the same thing if they know somebody else with a more even worse child, and so on. I love hearing about other peoples babies and what they are doing and have never once thought they are bragging. And... so what if you do brag once in a while, we are all entitled to be proud mummies and do a bit of bragging x

I know where your coming from, when Tayla was a newborn she was in Intensive Care but there wasn't any thing seriously wrong with her. It was awful talking to the other parents whos babies were seriously ill, I felt so so guilty when we got to take her home knowing the other parents would still be visiting their babies every day for months to come and some would never get to take their babies home
