and everything looks normal although they want me back in a month to check the posterior horn (In the brain!?) apparently it's on the larger side of normal (so still in the normal range... but high normal lol)

apart from that all looks fine and baby is another boy!

Aww congrats! Are you ok with it being a boy? Well, I know you are & I dont mean you're gutted but I know you would have liked a little girl. I was convinced Caitlin was a boy (I didnt even have a preference), and when I found out she was a girl my heart did sink for a min. I remember walking out of the scan with Stuart in silence and it taking a few mins for us to warm up again - I think it was just that id got it 'wrong', and Id also bought a few blue things. Dont get me wrong I was excited about having a girl, and I wasnt totally disappointed... just was a bit 'weird' for a few hrs.

This time I have no preference, I think id like a girl as it would be cheaper, but then Id love Stuart to have a son. If it was a girl again Id prob feel a bit down for a min or to for Stuart. I really dont want anymore kids after this and kinda feel like he will be missing out a bit.

Sorry for going off on one. Hope this hasnt offended, I just mean I know that sexing scans can be a touchy subject.

I will always feel guilty about this but when I found out Amelia was a girl I was absolutely gutted. I was so convinced she was a boy and we had all the boy stuff from Ollie. I didnt really come round to the idea till she was born. ObviouslyI lvoe her to pieces and cant imagine her being a boy now but at the time I couldnt get my head round having a girl.

I think thats a totally normal way to feel Kayleigh! I hope my friend Laura doesnt mind me saying but I think she felt the same when she found out Ethan was a boy after losing Katie. I think she prob will try again in a cpl of years, but she says herself she needs to get her head round the fact it could be another boy. She's also worried it looks to others as if Ethan wasnt good enough - which is rubbish, he is loved and adored, as is Amelia. I can totally understand when you lose a child of one sex you being more inclined to want the same sex again. x

ahh snoopy I am a bit upset it's a boy.. well Im not today but I was after my last scan when he said he thought it was a boy. I really had my hopes set on it being a girl. Not that I don't want a boy but I thought with feeling so sick, and with it being conceived day before my Nan died I felt like this baby was a gift from her and that it would have to be a girl, my mum bought girl stuff, I always wanted a girl so yeah honestly I would have preferred a girl but i'm quite looking forward to seeing my boys together

everyones like oh well as long as it's healthy that's all that matters but when your actually pregnant and hormonal and have one idea in your head when it turns out to be the other it's not all ok lol.

But I've got used to the idea of a boy the past week and I'm fine I'm just glad that i know what it is! I can start decorating his nursery and getting the few little bits that I need to buy.

It's a bit of a relief too as money is a bit tight so at least i don't need to spend a fortune on girl stuff.

Of course now I'm thinking about trying for a third but I know I would be really upset if it was another boy haha ive been thinking about adoption and then I feel guilty as if this baby isn't good enough for me!

I think how you are feeling is how lots of women feel when they get told that their 2nd or 3rd child is the same sex as their first. I dont want to start a row on here but I also think sometimes women feel worse when they have 3 boys as opposed to 3 girls. (Can I just say that I dont mean that every mummy of 3 boys gets upset... I just mean I think its a pretty normal emotion/want to have.)

I really hate people going on about people just being grateful for what they get. I can understand people who are ttc getting annoyed but that doesnt take away from how you feel. Of course your gonna love your son, but like you say hormones and false hopes made you feel a bit wobbly for a bit!

Im so jealous you can go shopping! Your right it will save you money it being a boy, Im sure Tyler will love having a brother close in age to play with, when they grow up they will be able to go out together etc.

Funny how our bodies can trick us into thinking things. I really though more sickness meant a girl but it just shows every pg different and we all experience dif things. Have fun shopping!Oooh & you get to think of names now! Im finding boys names harder to pick than girls x

my mum was heartbrokek when my youngest sister turned out to be a girl... after 2 girls she really believed it was a boy and when a girl popped out she was gutted and didn't bond very well until my sister had her heel prick test and cried and then mum snapped out of it.

I think people do have a preference to which sex they have and at the end of the day everyone is happy with what they get and wouldn't swap them for anything but that doesn't stop the disappointment at it not being what they expected/hoped for.

Snoopy I think I broke all of the old wives tales this time.. the pg was so different to start with from Tylers erm the heart beat was over 150, the heart sounded like a horse not a train - or whichever one is meant to be the girl and low and behold it's a boy!

haha I've been looking already for nursery decoration and sooooo want to go shopping otmorrow but have to work damnit. I only need a few new sleep suits and vests for the little guy cos Tylers stuff was hardly one and we're just going to reuse most of it! Although I might treat him (myself) to some nice new things

We have a name picked (we could only agree on a boys one which is just as well) but I think Im going to (try) and keep it secret until he's born just in case we change our mind (that and I haven't decided how to spell it yet hehe)

I'm convinced this one is a boy but after my scans people kept saying they thought it was a girl because it was so awkward but I was worried that I'd be freaked out if it turns out I'm having a girl when in my head I'm having a boy iykwim? At least you know now and can get all prepared, Tyler will love having a little brother! xx

having 2 boys is lovely, it may sound weird but i not sure i could be a mom to a girl at the moment, watching lucas on the playmat playing it just feels right being a boy and to be totally honest i was relived when russ told me he was a boy, i know what i doing with boys lol.

but that doesnt mean i wouldnt want a girl, i'd love a little girl to complete our family, in fact we ttc at the moment so who knows.

but congrats and enjoy the decorating

my whole pregnancy I said I wanted a girl and I didnt find out but I can honestly say if she had been a boy I would have been disappointed. obviously I would have loved him but I so wanted a girl.

I also hate when people say its unfair to want a specific sex as long as its healthy. you cant help how you feel and at least your honest.

next time I would love to have another girl but wouldnt mind with a boy either - but if I had a boy first I know I would have wanted a girl again.
