My step dads mum (my nan i suppose though ive never called her that) has been poorly for a few weeks now and had a lot of surgery done. Dad got a call today to say she was taking a turn for the worse and her bowel was leakig into her abdomen and he should probably go to her so they set off this morning, I couldnt go with them as Awens jabs are at 3 so wouldnt have been back

Mums just called. They were 15 minutes too late. She passed away just before they got there. Dads two other brothers didnt make it either as they had to travel too. Its quite sad Im sad Amys passed away though if im honest im not devastated I havent seen her since I was a child as I never really felt at home with the bulk of his family bar a couple of aunties but im more gutted for my dad, its only been about 6 weeks since his best friend died and now he didnt get to say goodbye to his mum . God lifes unfair to good people sometimes

Oh that's awful. Its a real shame he didn't get there to say goodbye. His not having a good time of it is he

Havent really spoken to him today. Talked briefly to him on the phone when he was at hospital and he sounded ok but hes not one for being all emotional. My mums spoken to her manager re getting time off for the funeral and my sisters (who are my dads) will both be at the funeral when the day is arranged. They are both quite upset as obviously shes their nan.

I feel a bit bad i wont be going to her funeral but id wouldnt want girls to go so young so id have to get the girls cared for all day literally which if neils at work is hard cos mum, dad and my sisters will all be at funeral and caelyns godmother my best mate is 28 weeks preg and of course i feed awen myself. So I probably wont go, would be going mostly for dad anyway i havent seen amy since my teens. Does that sound really bad?
