My sister's little girl, Charlotte, is 27 months old and quite a clever little lady.

My sister and BIL have been using the 'naughty corner' (as per supernanny's suggestion on every show) for a while but my darling niece has rendered it useless.

If Charlotte is asked to do something and does not want to she knows that the eventually outcome will be that she has to spend time in the naughty corner so she skips the middle bit and puts herself in the naughty corner straight away so it cannot be used as a punishment for not doing as she is told.

My 4 year old does that. she says "fine then! I don't want to do it cuz I can't be bothered so I'm going to sit on the naughty step!"

Umm this sounds familiar, Immy would do that and just sit there grinning from ear to ear! So now we do something which gets her every time, ignore her. Works a treat!

That's exactly what I do with Wil and it works so well

I do that, a paddy is no fun without an audience. I feel harsh turning my back to her but it has worked x
