I've just realised that Jamie hasn't had a milk feed since 5.30 this morning. His had a yughurt and lunch in that time (mainly fruit). His got a cup of water but I'm not sure how much his drinking. About 100ml is gone but I don't know how much his drunk and how much has gone on the floor. Does anyone have any idea how much fluid he should be taking? Its not been a problem before as he has always still wanted milk feeds (and I suspect he'll make up for it tonight) although he must have been taking less as I don't feel particularly big and uncomfortable. Also, I still boil his water. How long did you do that for? Am happy to keep doing it but wondered when I could stop

hmmmmm i would just keep offering him his cup just to make sure his fluids are ok - you can also feel if he is dehydrated as his fontanelle will feel sunken, but its unlikely. the ratio of bf/food goes up and down in my experience and eventually he will just prefer food Smile

i dont think there is a set amount of water/fluids he should drink and things like yogurt have water in them too, i would just keep offering.

i honestly can't remember when we stopped boiling water....it was before we moved so he cant have been older than 8 months. i think once they are moving around a bit and putting literally everything in their mouths there doesn't seem any point in boiling it - i vaguely remember that we only really boiled it carefully when elijah was under 6 months.

I think it's 6 months tht you can stop boiling the water although I think we did it for ages after that :/

he will drink what he needs to hun it's not as if you can force him to drink anywya id just keep offering him drinks and let him regulate himself Smile
