How often do you change your kids nappies?

I took the kids to my mums for 3 hours this morning (while I did a KIT day) and she changed them less than every hour!!! She went through 4 nappies EACH in the time they were there!

I just rang her and told her that if she intends on changing them that often she can buy them herself, as that is flipping stupid and there is no point in me going to work if I am only going to work to keep my kids in nappies as she is changing them so often.

I normally do bum changes at meal times, extra when they poo and also if they are looking a bit full, but not every 45 mins!!!

Caitlin gets changed when she wakes up, or after her breakfast if she being a starvo. So thats about 9am (I love having a child who sleeps late )

Then again at lunch - so about 1230/1

Again late afternoon

And finally at bedtime -730/8pm ish

So thats 4 times, but there would usually be an extra one thrown in of a poo somewhere, and if we heading out at about 11am I would change it again before we leave so she gets taken out 'fresh'.

Thats with Pampers, a few weeks ago when we had huggies I was changing them every 90min and it did my head in!!! Also when she was newborn i could have used 8-10 a day as she pooped so much.

I do Imogen's when she gets dressed in the morning then at night before she goes to bed. That is the only set times. During the day I just change when it's really full and when she's had poo. Sometimes she can go a whole day with that one nappy, but normally I need to change after lunch/nap.

My Mum said my Nanna used to do that when she looked after us. My mum had to just give my Nanna one or two nappies for the day to ration her lol. I think my Nanna just bought her own nappies in the end.

lucas gets changed every bottle so 5 times, but then if i notice its full then and of course pooey ones, which is normally after i've put him in a clean nappy. so about 7/8 times a day,

and if we going to clinic he gets a clean nappy

we had issues with pampers leaking and huggies are doing same, he moves too much.

mmm probably about 4 times a DAY not 4 times in 3 hours pmsl.

Flick gets changed first thing in the morning
Before her nap
After her nap - if up there for over an hour or so
after lunch
after tea
before bed

Flick drinks like a fish and pees loads so change her some days more than others. Like the other ladies I will change her more if she has a poo or drunk too much again

Varies. Jamie quite often does three poos a day so obviously then. Other than that only a couple of times. His in 12 hour nappies so doesn't actually need changing that often unless he has pooed. I guess I probably let him go about 4 hours in them in the day unless his looking very full

Im the same as you girls, about 4 times per day and for any unexpected poops.



Laura, my mum is similar to yours, I think it goes back to a time when nappies got changed after wee because they would get nappy rash otherwise.



Maybe explain to her that these nappies can hold at least 3 wees before they get full

umm i dont generally let eli go longer than 4 hours but normally its about 3 hours when its either quite full/end up doing a full clothing change anyway/leaked nappy or a poo so yeah.....few times a day

Well Izzy doesn't use them completely as does wees in the potty when we take it off...but if she has one on and does wees in it I would say 3 hours now cos she holds it in...used to be 2 hourly when she wet them properly...but hourly or less is CRAZY!

When they get up then around lunch time, then mid afternoon then bedtime. Obviously if these is a poo then they get changed again or if nappy looks full another change so on average 4/5 times a day each sometimes more if Lewis is having a poo day lol x

Same as most I think. I don't change her till after her bottle and breakfast as she is generally fairly dry when she wakes up so about 8am, 12ish after lunch, 4ish after nap and then 7.30 bedtime

Id say around 4times i aswell as the pooy ones i normally go byu how full thwe nappy is or if we go out i make sure he has a fresh one on x

It varies, but about fourish times a day.
When at nursery (so between 8 and 5) they change her about 3-4 times.

Amelia gets changed at every feed or if shes smelling so every 4 hoursish

Awen has one at about 5 susually cos she wakes up and does a poo then getting dressed at 7 or 8, then lunchtime, midafternoon after nap and bedtime so 5 but if she slept til later it wud be 4

morning lunch tea them bed and any poos inbetween x

I change Harry when he wakes up, then again around 10am before he has a snack, then after his nap about 2pm, then after tea about 5pm then bedtime at 8pm. So five nappies in total xx

That settles it then.... my mum is bonkers!



Im going to send them with 2 nappies each (after having a clean one when I take them), so there is no need for them to have more than that at the very most in the 3 hours they are there.

i change alfie as soon as he wakes up as he is normally busting at the seams. the last few mornigs he has been wet through but i know its cos hes been drinking extra before bed. then he normally has a poo after his brekkie and bottle so it gets change then. Then again before his nap. Mid afternoon and then a fresh one before bed at 7. So about 4 times a day unless he decides to do about 6 poo's which some days he does lol.



My mams the same as yours. Everytime she comes in she says "oooh amy he needs his nappy changing its bulging" even tho it blatently isnt! boils my pee lol x

I change H when he looks squadgy or stinks.... really depends how much juice he's had.. but general rule 1st thing before it explodes about 8 ish, then around 12 before nap, when he wakes if needed, then he's normally stinky about 5-6 and then after his shower before bed. 7.30

i change alesha every 2 hours as my child pee's for england and ends up walkin around with nappy hitting her knees

In the week she has a fresh one in the morning after breakfast then 2 to 3 listed on the care sheet from nursery, then sometimes one in the evening plus one at bedtime.

Haven't done them hoursly since newborn!
