Hi Ladies well after weeks of waking in the night and not settling, Me and OH decided to talk and find a solution which would help noah and us to have a better nights sleep .

Noah has a bath everynight at 7 his bottle at 7:45 then bed at 8 anyway so decided to stick with it.

Firstly We decided to try the self sooth controlled crying when we take him up for longer. I was only letting him cry for about 7 mins then would go in and would sooth him back .


Secondly i'd always watch television in my bedroom upstairs. So we both decided i should go downstairs shut the living room door so i cant here him as much (the crying i get very heartbroken lol ) and so his aware i am not in the room.

Lastly we also decided to keep the dog downstairs she normally sleeps in the spare room were it has wooden floor. She tends to jump on and off the bed, shake and basically make enough noise to disrupt sleep.

So we put all this things in place Thursday and guess what his slept through every night, even if he does get up he would sooth himself back. Another thing his getting up at 7 not 6:30 so extra sleep for me.

I am so happy ladies wish we had done it earlier. his now become my golden child

Sometimes they just need to figure out that they don't need mummy or daddy to get to sleep after all.

I was totally against CC but after 5 months back at work (so Imogen was almost 1) I was beside myself and one night was just grumpy enough to go for it. If we have another one I would definitely do it sooner. We still get the odd tantrum at bedtime but that's usually because we've let her get over-tired or over-excited. In fact sometimes she goes round kissing everyone and then heads off for the stairs as if to say "if you're not taking me to bed, then I'm taking myself!"

From now on you will know when Noah really needs you and when he just would like you to hang around a while.
