I havent seen much of it, but from what I have seen I am disgusted with what our country is coming to.

We are not in the middle of nowhere and we are not in a third world country where we have to be stealing. In times of crisis, countries go out and loot for food, but ffs, we are looting for TV's at Currys! Shocking!

Im actually ashamed to say that I live in the same country as these people! x

I can't beloved it's going on. Around 90% have just jumped on the bandwGon to steal and act like thugs just for the sake of it. They don't even know why they are there.

I'm just glad I no longer live in London

Its ridiculous, people are just rioting for fun.

Id did laugh but at people in hoods 'queueing' to rob a JD Sports. Only the British remember to be polite and queue up when in a riot!

Aww dont let it worry you like that. You're really far away from it. I know we all think of others, and you prob more than most as you such a caring person, but if its not affecting you directly its not worth losing sleep over. You cant change the behaviour of others. just concentrate on enjoying the rest of the week with your girls, keep the TV firmly on Cbeebies!

Why is it going on? Is there any point, or is it purely thuggery?

Didn't it start because the police shot someone? Although I'm sure I read he had a gun and resisted arrest

I dont think its too do with the guy that was shot anymore its just got out of hand x

We were watching late coverage on it lastnight where they were talking to people where there houses have been broken into and cars smashed. One elderly women heard banging woke up to find a thug standing in her bedroom doorway how scary.

news says if you believe your child has stolen goods march them down to police station !
i think a large percentage of the "underclass "parents will probably be highly delighted with their new 3d tv or ipad 2

Do your police not have water cannons?

Over here we have rioting every summer, mainly throwing missiles of petrol bombs or bricks at police, blocking roads, setting up hoax bomb scares and burning public transport in the local area. They last a week or 2 and are normally localised in council housing area's so there not much looting apart from local shops. You kind of know what area's to avoid but its still scary for the police and innocent people who are housed there.

Not every time but when it gets bad, the police get water cannons out and floor the f*ckers.

Also this is very contraversial but plastic bullets used to be used here alot by police. Not so much now as there was so much bad feeling towards police from communitys and over the years innocent people were caught up in the firing of them and blinded etc.

Im just thinking surely there is more the police can do than simply arrest people? There's not enough manpower to control it by arrests alone! Id give them a 20min warning and then get water cannons out....

I agree a water cannon or plastic bullets should be used - they should get hurt - simple as...nothing else will send the shits home

they need to do something.... something more than just arresting people as at the end of the day that's just costing the decent british public more money!
