Introducing whole milk _

Hi

Liam has been on lactose free formula since 4 months and after seeing a dietician was told to keep him on it until around 18 months when I should put him on whole milk. I decided to try him with it tonight as we are nearing the end of this batch of milk but when he tried it he screwed his face up and gave the bottle to me. Tried a few times but he just didn't seem to like the taste. In the end I gave up and made him a bottle of formula which he drank straight down. I am now not sure what to do to get him used to the taste, should I make a bottle up of half formula half whole milk to dilute the taste a little? xx

Never had to do it but I'd probably try half and half. Or does he have cereal or something like that? Could you try putting on that

Iv had the same problem! My daughter is 2 and from 8 weeks was on Nutramigen due to a milk allergy. We tried her with cows milk at 13 months and she took a reaction to it and were advised to try again after her 2nd bday. (We havent got round to that yet).

I do know what you are going through but as at around 20 months we tried to introduce soya milk, so a new taste. Caitlin wont take it at all. In fact we got rid of her btls shortly before this and now Caitlin wont take her formula in a cup or soya milk so is getting none which isnt ideal.

Some people suggested adding Nesquick milkshake powder to the milk? To make it taste appealing. You then gradually reduce the powder until eventually they taking plain milk. You could try that? It didnt work for us but Rolling Eyes

I would try mixing them together gradually increasing the milka nd reducing the formula x
