| Tmi warning maybe - Sitting having lunch and suddenly feel my knickers are all wet. Run to the bathroom thinking omg I just peed myself and didn't realise. Pad, knickers and leggings soaked. I'm thinking I'm pretty sure I'd realise if i was peeing myself so had a bit of a sniff (don't judge!!) to determine if it was wee and it doesn't smell like it at all. So it is my waters? I got new clothes and pad and can feel little dribbles and it feels like a pressure down there. Bump is really hard too. I'm too scared/embarassed to call hospital incase they just tell me I'm pissing myself! What do i do now just wait it out, see if there's more? |

| Eeeks I duno! TMI here but we had sex yday afternoon and after I stood up to go to loo, coughed and felt wee running down my leg I was aware it was wee but as I could feel it happening. Does it smell sweet? Iv heard waters smell sweet. My waters were broke during induction so I have no clue what they look/smell/feel like. Id say maybe ring MWs. They may ask you to come up with a pad to test. Better to get it checked. Im sure loads of ppl think its their water and get told its wee or discharge- more tmi - at 17 weeks with Caitlin, again after sex, I stood up and water trickled out of me onto a small pool on floor. I didnt ring MWs as it stopped and I was pretty sure it was normal discharge/girly fluid from sex. If id been 36 weeks id prob have been more bothered, and you werent having sex just before either. Im sure the MWs are used to this. Sorry im not much use! If I was you id ring MWs to check! x |

| I would ring. I had a couple of times when I had so much discharge I soaked through a pad and my clothes and thought my waters could have gone. I just phoned and they brought me in to check. Even if it was wee then they're used to it |

| Thanks for replies. I guess I should phone day assesment unit. I'm confused now though cause I've had to pee about 5times in last half hour but still getting water inbetween that. Maybe baby is right on my bladder. Water in pad still doesn't seem like pee though. arrrggghhh. Got backache now too.

| Still let them know just in case. My firend's waters broke but when they rang they didnt believe her. A week later when she went in to be induced they realised the waters had all gone and so her an dbubs had to stay in for an extra couple of days to both have antibiotics in case of infections.

| Well call me stupid but I didn't call mw or day assesment unit. I hate making a fuss and water seems to have stopped for now. I had some painful BH and thought something might be happening and considered phoning but then it stopped. Think baby is just teasing me. I'm sure he'll be 2wks late |

| waters have a weird kind of sweetish smell (and from what i recall the actual liquid was surprisingly warm ). i would really ring the assesment unit or your midwife as if your waters are even leaking enough to notice they will want to keep an eye on baby cos of risk of infection bit of scaremongering for you there, get on the phone woman! |

| OMG only just seen this, are you mad woman?? Virtually the same as when mine went, only without hte sudden wetness at the beginning - just a slow but constant trickle. Well at first I thought it was man juice having, well, you know, that morning. Then I thought "blimery there's not usually THAT much!" Then I did exactly what you're not supposed to do if your waters have gone which was to have a bubble bath. Then I phoned triage who said go in so they could see if it was waters or not. Even then it took the midwives an age to decide whether or not it was waters cos it was so slow. Well eventually they decided it was which means they only let you go another 48hrs without inducing because of risk of infection, and they swab for group B strep as well cos if you have that they induce you sooner. Having said all that, I was late not early. But I know with my sister her waters broke early and they pretty much kept her in till bubbs was born. PHONE THEM!!! Then tell us what they say. Then do what they say!! Good luck sweetie xxx Em |

| How is it all going now? Did you ring someone in the end?
I am someone who does not like to make a fuss also, but I dont think they will see it as making a fuss, they will see it as looking after yours and your baby's safety.
Hope you have/had the courage to make the call and get it all checked out.

| I didn't phone anyone. I know i know I should have but just was in a bit of denial and couldn't face phoning and going in just to have them send me home. The water stopped so they put my mind at ease. Baby was going crazy kicking and moving about, and is now so low, so I think maybe as gross as it is that the baby was putting pressure on bladder with all the moving. |
