| a dishwasher....parents always had one and just kinda got one when I got my first place
Anyway couple of weeks ago it broke (was 10 years old so can't moan!)
Will I replace it?! NO!!!
Honestly it's more blimin hassle than washing up! You have to rinse plates for it anyway, and then make sure its all stacked right...and feel bad if its not full...sometimes something moves and jams the sprinkler, sometimes glasses/pans don't get clean so have to be done again anyway - and you have to wait ages before emptying it. AND the powder aint cheap!
Washing up you just do it and its done! |

Its quicker than the machine ... takes about an hour for the machine (maybe new ones are faster I dunno, it was a good one back then) but I can wash up lunch and tea stuff in 20 mins and its dried and put away |

| We didn't have one for years and I used to do all the washing up/drying/putting away but then we decided to invest in one last year and now hubby is in charge of it so I don't have to do the washing up at all anymore yey So I love mine |

| I would never get a dishwasher. I will admit that I never dry up I leave it drain for an hour or so then I put it away. I find our tea towels dont really dry very well and leave bits on the washing up so need new ones i think x |

| We got one last year and I can honestly say I couldn't be without it especially since lily came along too.
I must admit I use it daily, and it's normally jammed full too. X |

| We have one and I hate it!! We use it once in a blue moon, usually just cos I cba to wash up but can't abide seeing dirty dishes everywhere. Like you say, you have to pre rinse everything, strategicley place everything in order and it never dries things properly..especially plastics and it leaves water marks all over them and believe me I've tried every washing tablet on the market!! I'd rather wash with hot water and good old Fairy liquid! and they are dry within the hour to be put away |

| I love my dishwasher, love love LOVE it! Ahhh especially as I have excema I cant be using washing up liquid or rubber gloves cos both set off.
I got one cos in my old house the kitchen wasn't big enough to accommodate two people's worth of washing draining so you'd have to do it in batches - wash a bit, dry it, put it away, run more water cos it had gone cold, wash a bit more..... Dishwasher was a LIFESAVER! I've never lOoked back!! |

| I remember when I was little always telling my Nan &Grandpa that they should get a dishwasher but now I get why they didn't. It's easier to wash up.. as long as you keep on top of it! Matt keeps going on about getting one but I don't see the point. We never have a lot of stuff to wash and I normally only have to do one round of washing up after dinner to keep on top of it. |

| ive always wondered what the point was. The thing I hate about washing up is putting them away so I imagine a dish washer would do my head in. Im lazy and leave them to drain, sometimes im especially lazy and dont put them away just use them straight out of the draining board |

| We got one about 4 years ago when we bought a house that had a space for one so thought we'd better fill it I absolutely love mine!! Yeah its a pain in the ass emptying it, especially as it's my job but it used to drive me mad doing it by hand, Simon would always wash and I would dry - so boring!! |

| I'm with Donna, more than one child and all your plates disappear... but add my sons love washing up (flooding the kitchen) Lewis' job is to load and Owen unloads the dishy onto work top then I put away... However, they've decided this school holidays they will occasionally wash up instead.. I came down yesterday morning to an immaculate kitchen as the boys had got busy after bringing me breakfast in bed I have both the dishy and washing machine insured so if either go wrong they get repaired. My DW is about 7 years old and breaks twice a year..but tis ok the lil man comes and makes it all better I wouldn't live without my dishwasher and if he went to dishwasher heaven his replacement would soon fill his gap |

| When i had my first flat there was no room for one and so we had to just wash up which at that time was fine as i had never had a dishwasher at my mums, then we moved into the house where the lady before us left a table top one which was amazing but when we had Gracie we had to upgrade to a bigger model, Once that broke I think I lasted a week before my new one was ordered as wit ha little person that just seems to eat and eat and eat it was impossible to keep up with.
Its a Godsend at Christmas when you have family and a hell of a lot of washing up.
Also when we have the stepson and nephew to stay because in 2 days they will use 8 little plates, 4 big plates and near on every single glass that we own
so in a word after my essay LOVE LOVE LOVE IT COULDN'T BE WITHOUT IT |
