Does this sound right?
Trents ambilical cord has gone kind of weird. its all dried up gone a brown color and hard. It has come away from the skin but its gone all smelly and brown and sticky in the middle. the only thing which is holding it in place is a sticky brown string which is coming out of the middle of the stub. an ideas? it looks pretty gross we have tried to keep it clean. do you think i shield call the.mw about it tomorrow?

hiya hun, i know they do go a bit weird when they're about to drop off...i know i accidentally knocked benji's off at the 4th day... i think they fall off at about 7-10 days anyway
if it smells awful, and the gungey stuff is green, then just give the mw/hv a call, it doesn't hurt for them to check it out

sounds about right, i think elijahs lasted about a week it went brown then very dark brown and was like some sort of awful stinky twig then it fell off into his nappy and i freaked out and couldn't touch it

I'd it smells really bad then call the midwife but what you've described sounds normal.

Hermione's has started weeping again but it was checked yesterday by the doctor and it's heeled up inside so nothing to worry about

Sounds normal, lucas came off at 4 days

calebs came off at 3 days. all sounds normal xx
