We went out drinking last night and I did drink a lot. How long do you think I need to wait until I feed Jamie? His not going to be back here until at least one anyway and I stopped drinking at about 1 last night

Can you express off both sides? If you can I'd be temped to do that and then tip it away. I would say it'd be ok to feed him after that. x

I left it a day and expressed and got rid of everything that day, but I was being over cautious (Plus I'd drank 16shots of vodka and a lot of strong punch) I think like Lisa said express and get rid of milk before he gets home and then you should be ok.

Technically if you are sober now there is no need to pump and dump unless its for comfort/supply reasons. Alcohol in BM is the same as in your blood, it doesnt stay there and is processed. Eg if you dont have any alcohol left in your bloodstream then it wont be in your milk either. If you pump now and there is still alcohol in your blood stream technically the new milk could have alcohol in it again.

If it makes you feel happier, by all means go ahead and pump. But if you feel sober now dont be worrying that its 'stored' in your boobs - its not! A rough guide for how the body processes alcohol is 1 unit per hr on ave. Its best to do this from you stopped drinking to be sure. Eg if you had no more than 12/13 units it will certainly be out of your system by now.

Hmm not sure what I actually had. He still doesn't want milk at the moment. I think I might give him a bottle for his next feed and then wait until tonight to be sure.
