| HELP!! Milo was throwing his 50th tantrum of the morning as he couldn't eat all my breakfast, he crawled under the table and stated shoving things up his nose Got it out from one side but the other side he shoved right in with his finger (looked like a bit of sweetcorn) but still visible, rushed to get the tweezers but by the time I got back it had vanished (my oh had been holding his hands so he couldn't push it further in so it looks like he's inhaled it in He's now looking really sorry for himself so it probably hurts, but what the **** am I supposed to do?? Should I take him to the doctors?? Help!! |

| copied for speed;
1. Have the child try and blow their nose, while pinching the unaffected nostril closed.
2. If you can see the object, but it can not be blown out by the child, try grabbing it with tweezers and gently pulling it out.
3. If the object can Not be seen, and the child's blowing is not working, blow it out your self.
This option is similar to preforming CPR. You will want to place a Kleenex between the child's nose and your face, then pinching the child's unaffected nostril shut, blow into the child's mouth gently.
You may have to blow several times, but with a little persistence, the object will come out. |

| ooh my sister once got something tiny stuck up her nose and we could see it... took her to hospital they did an X-Ray and she had swallowed it...
no real advice other than if you can't see it and it he's ok then it's probably gone..
he's probabyl feeling sorry for himself because you and OH have shocked him as he doesn't know what he's done. |

| Thanks everyone! Got it out now and he's feeling very sorry for himself - turned out it was a baby carrot about 2cm long and 1cm wide He'd pushed it so far up that we couldn't even see it, thankfully it worked itself down a little after i posted, and I managed to get it out with tweezers. Didn't expect it to be that big, it was a bit freaky. He has cried lots since then so I'm hoping anything else jammed up either side would have come out too, but I'm keeping an eye on him. Would you take him to get checked over anyway or am I worrying too much? |

| Thanks everyone, he seemed fine (nose wise at least) after we got the carrot out. Shone a torch up his nose and couldn't see anything else, and he didn't seem in any pain. Is eating and drinking normally too, so hopefully all is fine x |
