| Do you think it will be safe enough to put Chloe in a forward facing carseat?
I have weighed her and she is over 20lb, also when sitting in her present car seat she is constantly lifting her head to look and her legs are scrunched up.
I know the recommendation is 20lb and or 9 months but as she is 2 months off being 9 months so i'm not sure.
What ages did you put your LO's in a forward facing carseat?

| With carseats I always go by the weight they recommend, because they can reach that weight earlier or later than recommended age.
I'd go to mother care and try her in one, you wil see if she looks unsafe unit |

| They say try to keep them in rear facing as long as possible, but it sounds like she might be ready. Maybe go to halfords/mothercare and get some advice. Immi changed to forward facing at 11months, but she's fairly petite so not the same situation. |

| Could you buy a birth to four years car seat. That's what we did with Jamie. Then they could stay backwards facing until 13kg. We went to talk to the proper trained council people because we found Halfords useless and they told us its always safer (but would be for anyone I think) but that they say when they can sit alone for a minute then their neck muscles should be strong enough. Jamie's been turned round for a while now because his past the 13kg limit |

| Its those figures to ensure they have sufficient head strength and neck strngth cos an impact wont push them back into the seat anymore so how is chloes head control? I put C in one at 9 months when she was only 7.5 kilos. If id waited for 9 kilos it woulda taken til January this year!!! |

| When I asked i was told it is the position of the head in the seat, and not to matter about the legs. Basically its much safer in a rear facing until the head comes out of the top of the seat.
I would personally wait longer yet even though shes hit the weight I doubt her neck will be ready for a forward facing xxx |

| I didn't realise they did 0-4 ones....tbh her head control has been pretty good from quite early on, also she can now sit unaided for quite a while too.
I would rather her be safe though so will have a discussion with OH....and Michelle that's a bloody bargain.
Thanks ladies

| I'd go for the the 0-4 and keep her rear facing as long as you can...I kept Izzy rear facing like that til she was 1, and only bought a new forward only facing one (in general I believe something made for one job is better than something made for 2 jobs) because I was finding it hard to get her in and out with the seat belt in the way |

So I would turn her round! That nania seat is good too! I m going to get one for Rhys to go in my mums car! Safes faffing moving one seat! Xxx |

| I know it's tempting to put them forward facing but I'd wait as long as you can. We got ours from halfords and the bloke there was really knowledgeable and was a great help. I suppose it's all to do with luck with regard to getting good advice from shops. When we went to morhercare it was a really young girl who didn't have a clue. xx |

| ours were all only about 5 months. i felt awful leaving them rear facing when their legs were all scrunched up. stupid idea. ive no idea how you can leave them like that for 9 months.
we just made sure that the seats were as reclined as they would go once they were forward facing and they were fine x |

| When we got the new car (Lily was 7.5 months) I took both of the girls to Kiddicare and they said that Aimee could go in a stage 2, 3 seat (4-12 years) and Lily could go in Aimee's old seat (9 months to 4 years).
I couldnt recommend them highly enough and they spent 2 hours making sure that the seats were perfect and fitted properly in the car.

| I'll be keepin Amelia rear facing as long as possible although as shes so diddy I wont have the issue of her being uncomfortable. I'd rather have her scruched up than in danger personally. |

| We put Libby forward facing when she about 11 months, like Lise if we'd have waited til she was 9kg it would of been when she was over 2 years old I'm going to keep Dexter in his rear facing until at least 9 months too, he is alot bigger than what Libby was so will probs reach the 9kg limit before then but I'd be happier keeping him there til he reaches the age. |

| I think alfie was about 9 months. He was a chunky baby too. I def recommend keeping them forward facing as long as you can. We kept him in it until we couldn't fasten the belt buckle around him ha x |
