| I was really nervous about having mine done and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I had a really lovely female nurse who helped me to relax. I get tense anyways its something I can't help, think that's why my sweep didn't work. But its not too bad if you just close your eyes and daydream, or talk about soaps like me and the nurse did when I had mine! |

| You'll be absolutely fine. Like Mari said if you've had a baby I'm quite sure you can cope with 30 secs of discomfort lol. It's really not painful at all, and the person doing it has done it mollions of times before.
I've been having them since I was in my late teens. I had my last one when oliver had his jabs at 16wks old! Clare, why do you need to wait till Lucas is 6mth? |

| It really is fine Amy and over in no time. I always have to have mine at the hospital as I've got a tilted cervix so it is hard to get to in the normal way , but at the hospital they have a special chair which gives the nurse better access so If I can survive the embarrassment of that you will be fine!! xx |

| They are odd in the UK with smears... here you have them from 18 and you have them every year.
If your pregnant when your due one you still have it so when you go to doctors at say 6 weeks to confirm pg he will check when your last smear was, if it's coming up for a year then they do it straight away and then they do one at your post natal check 6 weeks after birth.
but amy it's fine nothing to worry about it's more embaressing than anything lol. |
