tonight will be Danielle's first night out the cot ! it was too dangerous as she has twince climbed and fell out of it.
i am dreading it ! there is no way she is just going to go to sleep in it she will be out running around within minutes
i will have to be super careful tonight as we don't have a stairgate on top of stairs yet and she has not mastered coming downstairs , i am going to turn the door handle upside down so she cant open it for a bit of extra security

i can't remember my boys going into big boys beds and don't recall any struggles so any hints and tips for tonight please ?
we took her upstairs to see her bed and get used to it and she thought it was a game and started to jump on it

Good luck! Izzy was funny, she wouldn't get out without us there for a few weeks, which was nice!!

I agree put the handle up, I didn't have that option and it would have been useful cos they give up if they cant get out and just go back to bed!

Aimee has always been ok with the stairs but we did put a stairgate on her bedroom door to stop her from getting out of her room. On the nights where she runs around, we just leave her for a bit as she normally gets bored and goes to bed herself, or we will go up and pop her back in every 10 mins. She soon gets fed up x

I dreaded it too but tbh best thing I ever did! We did it the night of her 2nd bday and did her room up all peppa for a surprise. Caitlin not amazing at staying in bed (she used to jump about in cot and scream), but now she gets up comes to stairgate for a nosey (on room door), potters about for 30min or so and then puts herself back in bed. From night one she has always returned to the bed, never fell asleep on floor or fell out.

She does shout to get out of room but is def not as bad as was in cot as she has that little bit of freedom to roam about for a while. Good luck!
